Heart of Darkness - it was my first game, and it was also f*cking hard so I never got anywhere with it.

Good fun though.

I'll say Republic Commando, because Lucasarts have seemed to have forgotten it, stupid bastards.
Totaly agree! They never made a sequel and the game had potential to become a great series.

Those would definitely have to be some of the best games that I've played, and yet are very very infrequently mentioned, if at all!

EDIT: Throw Icewind Dale in there as well.

Hexen I think. Does anybody remember Hexen?
Does anybody remember Hexen... Yes I certainly do.... I was pretty much brought up on that game and doom2... Never could decide which was better... I lost my Hexen disc a long time ago, oh how I wish for it back...

OT: Much of what I would say have already been said, But I will also say Pitfall for the Gameboy colour

Now that was a good game....

Black... Probably the best PS2 FPS in existance... (Gameplay wise, story wasn't so good)

That was an awesome game... the sequel would still be one of my favourite PS2 games I have..

I fell in love with this game when I was young.
Me too! I'm going to buy it online when I have money to spare.

*Goemons Great Adventure*
*Ogre Battle 64 Person of Lordly Caliber*
My two favorite games....
Such great memories with those games... Although I recently tried Goemon's Great Adventure and didn't like it so much; but Ogre Battle... Mmm.

Also:
Jet Force Gemini, Legend of Mana, Quest 64, Pokemon Stadium, NBA Jam, Slime World, and Zombies Ate My Neighbors!...

While I've played and remembered nearly every game mentioned here, this one is sure to have been forgotten:

Wow, someone else actually remembers The Nomad Soul, now that was an obscure title. There was some stunning music in that game and even in-game concerts you could attend, but the controls were awkward at best, and the combat sequences were awful. But an interesting adventure nonetheless.

It always struck me as ambitious game which over-stretched itself, neither one thing or another.

Agreed. I miss the o'l point and clicks. :(

In the same genre, Day of the Tentacle and Flight of the Amazon Queen.

Since Parasite Eve 1&2 were mentioned in this thread more than once already, someone else remembers them, too. It'd be nice if Square-Enix did.
Okay, whoever made the Wikipedia articles remembers these games, too, but only those who know to look for the articles and maybe a lucky few who stumble across them without understanding or concern about the importance of what they see will be aware of those games still!

Little Big Adventure 2 anyone?
I suppose most of you might know of this... But that doesn't make it any less awesome!

The ancient DOS game Hocus Pocus was also full of win.

I would have said Dragon Force for the Sega Saturn, but it seems that these guys and their fansbase certainly do remember it...even if said fans have never played the game!

I remember it, dude.
In fact I'm working on my umpteenth playthrough.
But it's funny, recently I've observed a surge in awareness concerning FunCom's masterpiece.
Could it be that the consensus is slowly catching up?
Fingers crossed.

As for an original contribution to the thread...
Seriously. The combat in Arkham Asylum has nothing on this.
