Agreed. Sports games are one of those things I think people should be ashamed of buying. Play a sport IRL with your friends, and have a good, memorable time.

There must be a whole bunch of disabled kids that buy these games. Plus, I live in England, the only chance of playing American Football is the Madden games with my one other friend who likes the game.

madden games, barbie adventure games, and those remakes of remakes of remakes of space invaders/ tetris/ etc ...those 10 in 1 games i mean, ussually lye at the bottom of a giant box full of other junk and people "dig" through them hoping to find something low on the gay meter.

Halo wars, my reasons are: not made by blizzard, console only, and its halo, they curbstomped any real point to that right after they finished the first game and book
Naruto: that series is mind wrenchingly shitty
barbie, my little pony, exploration games. self explanatory
gears of war 3 if they make it, will end up ruining the entire series if they are not careful
movie games and TV games: when havent they sucked?
LOTR games: overkill
anything not made by blizzard or has the name The Sims/half life on it in the computer games aisle not in the jewelcase section.

So no game is worth buying unless its made by Blizzard, Valve or Will Wright?

Most of the games I see for the Wii. As a Wii owner it hurts that shelf space is being taken up by "Deal Or No Deal" etc. but I suppose it may pull some new people into gaming.

Touch the Dead for the DS comes to mind. If the title didn't scare everyone away, the laughably bad graphics and concept did.

Do many poor quality games sell because of box art, movie/tv/book tie-ins or just people making impulse purchases?

I don't have anything against sport games or people who do like them. I don't like them myself...
I do see how buying the same sports game every year is excessive/pointless though.
