I'd say The Darkness, but everyone who watches Unskippable remembers it now.

..... And that was the first time I died...

No one really plays Call of Juarez:Bound in Blood online any more. :(
Also, the warriors, black hawk down and road rash.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Low_G_Man

An NES Title called "Low G Man", from Taxan. Taxan only ever made a dozen games total, and this was the best one. It was such a trip taking those ridiculous leaps around the screen. Your main attack is jumping and stabbing the crap out of enemies with a spear. He was Kain before Kain existed. I wouldn't have that sort of vertigo-inducing jumping again until "Crackdown" and that one level of "Super Mario Galaxy" (you know the one).

This needs a Virtual Console release.

Shortline Railroad. Even i myself had forgotten the game for a long while. I'm quite positive nobody i know has ever heard of the game prior to me mentioning it.

RECOIL, made by the same guys as MAG and SOCOM. They have a thing for caps-lock.
It's a 1995 tank game that kicks more ass than a boot stuck five feet up Susan Boyle's rectum, mainly because of the tether guided nukes you can carry around.
You also get to fly over lava, morph the tank into a submarine, go to a nudist beach....

Great fun.

M.U.L.E.
You never hear people talk about that game anymore, used to play it on my Commodore 64.
I still play it, online of all things, there is a massive community for it.

Planet M.U.L.E. is just one of the modern builds of this game.

heart of darkness was awesome

hmm lets see, commander keen I suppose, you can still find it pretty easy but Ive never heard anyone else talk about it
Commander Keen got me through my high school keyboarding classes, since I went in already typing 60 wpm, thanks to my typewriter and a love of writing short stories, and my teacher let me do whatever I wanted. So many good memories.

But here's one... Circus, I believe it was called, on the Colleco-vision. I used to waste hours playing that infuriating game as a kid. I've only ever heard it mentioned in the gaming community in one or two reviews, and they only mentioned it at best, in a list of Colleco games...

I always loved SCUD the Disposable Assasin but the only copy I have ever seen in my area has been the one my uncle and aunt sent me for my birthday years back. On top of that, nobody even seems to remember it at all when I bring it up as one of my favorites.
I remember his comics.... SCUD had a game?

Nether Earth of the ZXSpectrum. The first RTS, you could directly control a unit or issue orders. It even let you design your own units.

There's a very good remake, see below.
