Games that are going to suck...

I've got a feeling Dead Island will be bad. Making something controversial to get people to buy it seems cheap.

It's only controversial to a minority of people.

My real concern is that they pull a Halo, and make the trailers all weepy, and when you get to the actual game you're confronted by John the Spartan and Sgt Johnson (I still can't get over that) the angry black soldier man.

Other than a very old, very short tech demo though, I've not seen anything of the game, so I won't comment.

I don't think any of the major titles will be bad, TOR and Human Revolution have both had excellent previews, Dragon Age 2 has had a fantastic review from PCG, Mass Effect 3 is... Well, fucking Mass Effect(!), and Skyrim is Oblivion but better (I loved Oblivion, forgive me Morrowinders).

Then there's LA Noire, Crysis 2, Uncharted 3 and inFamous 2. I really cannot see any of the top tier stuff approaching anything like average, let alone bad, unless something goes really wrong.

For me, I think I can safely say Duke Nukem Forever and Skyrim won't be all that good. Portal probably won't be as good as people are assuming, but still pretty good... hm.

*jumps even further behind*, I'll tag bulletstorm onto that ever expanding list, itl be fun for like half an hour then it will get annoying.

I'd be willing to believe that if I hadn't played the demo ten times or so.

The way i live my life is to never get my hopes up. If I don't I can't be disappointed and if I do like the game its even better because I wasn't expecting it.

In all seriousness though, I have the funny feeling that Homefront will fall through. It tries to add so much drama to the game, but I think that it will fall flat and just become a mediocre FPS.

Other than that, I have high hopes for this year.

Skyrim will most likely have all the same mistakes Oblivion and Fallout 3 had. Forcing you to fight for the good guys, actually having a "good vs evil" plot and more than likely crappy dialogue.

On these forums? I doubt you're going to need a flameshield. It's not like you're trashing Valve, and even that wouldn't inspire as much flame as one would expect.

My vote goes to DmC (which if I'm not mistaken was stated to aim for a 2011 release), not because I'm butthurt about the Dante redesign, but because Ninja Theory is incapable of making an above-mediocre action game.

inFamous 2. The first game was one of the worst game I've had the misfortune of playing throughout my many, many years of gaming. And the second one doesn't look to be much better.

I'm a little sceptical about Portal 2. To me it's like Leonardo Da Vinci earned so much praise with the Mona Lisa he decided to paint 'Mona Lisa 2' with a bonnet on her head and a feather boa.

It just won't replicate the success and brilliance of its original.
