This seems to be full of "I don't like [insert here] so it'll be a flop." Like with the Skyrim haters. If your series has a TRACK RECORD of making GOTY with EVERY installment, you must be doing something right. My money is currently on DMC because it changed too much at least according to the trailers and most customers will buy or not according to that.
I'm deathly afraid MGS Rising will fail, 1. Because Kojima isn't involved in it, and 2. Because it's on the 360. Which means they Americanized it. I want this game to be good, but the jury's out.

Skyrim will most likely have all the same mistakes Oblivion and Fallout 3 had. Forcing you to fight for the good guys, actually having a "good vs evil" plot and more than likely crappy dialogue.
And yet they won GOTY hands down. Because people LOVED it. And from what I read, they fixed the concerns you mention. Except the good vs evil thing, but honestly it's their story.

My vote goes to DmC (which if I'm not mistaken was stated to aim for a 2011 release), not because I'm butthurt about the Dante redesign, but because Ninja Theory is incapable of making an above-mediocre action game.
Ok, so Dante gets a haircut, some new clothes and dyes his hair. Its not the end of the world. Or DmC for that matter.

See? From anywhere...
I don't think you actually understand Zen's reasoning.

Any new Call of Duty...I swear the franchise has been going downhill since CoD2, 4 being the only good one inbetween.

TBH i actually don't. I havent ever played a DmC game and it might stay that way depending on how awesome this next one looks.

What good is GOTY, Betehsda games are just like the Call of Duty franchise, they're successful just because of the name and developer. If a game says "The Elder Scrolls" or "Call of Duty" in front of it, people will buy it and it will be successful. Awards mean nothing, and neither do reviews, they're just opinions from a single person or a group of people.

They're are many people, and I do mean many who hated Fallout 3 because of how much it fucked with the Fallout lore and characters. The writing was bad, the story was bland and stupid and there were so many black and white moral choices. Same goes for Oblivion which had one of the worst main quests I've ever played, the second half was basically doing the same thing over and over again.

Morrowind was better than Fallout 3 and Oblivion and if Skyrim is Morrowind with all the major problems Morrowind had fixed, then it will be good. But I doubt it considering that Bethesda get awards for bing worse than Morrowind they will continue to be worse than Morrowind.*sigh*

Because than, you can't get disappointed...

*Sobs pathetically in the darkest and gloomiest corner*

In all seriousness, I really can't say... But from what little progress I've seen from game developers these many years, is that they are getting less and less well on impressing me.

... But hey, I was raised gaming with Blizzard standards, being in the merits of Diablo, Warcraft and WoW. And those are fucking high standards indeed.
Wow talking about the glass being half empty. I think someone needs a hug...

You are correct though. You don't even have to like the games to know that Blizzard sets a benchmark whenever they release something. My only gripe with them is the game developers are related to Axle Rose or something. It takes freakin years before something gets released.

I think that Fallout: Van Buren would have been the most proper Fallout 3 there could have been. Bethesda`s attempt was fresh, new and exciting, but lacked that sense of on the brink survival that made F1 and F2 great.
Exactly, Bethesda missed the point almost entirely. They thought the Fallout universe was just about surviving in a harsh world, where it is actually more about trying to calm the harsh world and re create the world into a better one than what it was before and learning from the massive mistakes of humanity. Bethesda just took the Fallout universe and did whatever they thought was cool;

Blow up a town for no reason?
A town full of children who's future seems very bleak and existence just seems confusing?
Dumb, constipated super mutants?
Good guys vs Bad guys?

And many more strange decisions.

Many people now consider New Vegas to be the proper Fallout 3 and Fallout 3 to be more of a spinoff.

OT: That so called "Spyro" game Activision are making will fail horribly. From what I can tell the game is basically like buying a puzzle, however, it comes with just one piece and you have to buy the rest of the pieces seperately. Plus the new design of Spyro is just downright horrible.

The instant I learned that the fourth game to the phenomenal Thief series was going to be named Thi4f, I lost all hope. Seriously, they're going with Thi4f? That's about the most stupid name for a game ever conceived.

The Old Republic - I highly doubt it's capacity to deliver it's promises. And Bioware is pissing me off lately.

Homefront - It's not as original as people seem to think it is...

Devil May Cry Reboot - Seriously...Ninja Theory has never done good combat. Good storytelling, but that's not DMCs thing.

Skyrim won't be all that good.
I'm shaking my head at you in utter disappointment. Remember the last time someone doubted Bethesda?

BOOM
Huge case of YMMV. Fallout 3 had a lot of issues with it, like that very long character creation process. Oh, not to mention Point Lookout being utterly full of fake difficulty.
