Games that are so overrated

I'm not a fan of the word overrated personally. It seems to just be a way of saying "my opinion is more correct than everyone else's" to me. Also everyone and thier dog says Final Fantasy 7 and Halo, it gets annoying, which is ironic because if I actually believed in using the word I would have to say that finding Final Fantasy 7 and Halo to be overrated is overrated.
It's one thing to claim that something is overrated, but to say that it doesn't DESERVE it's popularity is ridiculous. If a shitload of people play it, like it, enjoy it, and want more, it DESERVES all of the success it gets. Sure, many people don't think FF7, COD, or HALO are the be-all, end-all games of all time, but it DESERVES it's popularity because a metric ass-load of people want to spend a metric ass-load of money on it.Antonio Torrente said:

To an extent, almost every game is overrated, I mean, the average score for a game is between 7 and 8 of 10.
Surely the idea of a 1-10 scoring system is to have average games at 5, and above/below in the numbers in-between.

Everyone was excited when the first one came around, because it was said that it was going to revolutionize the first-person-shooter. No...no it didn't. The game was severely average to me, and while the water and the whale at the beginning was pretty, most everything else looked kinda poo-y. But I don't care much for graphics, so whatever.
I mean, even South Park kind of spoofed on it, I think, though myself and others may have been reading into the episode a bit too much. The episode was Guitar Queer-O's, or some such title.

See, I understand multiple playthroughs, but I don't get multiple playthroughs for puzzle-games, like Portal. You know the answers to every problem, and there is little to no random factors that don't depend on your own errors. Surely that cake joke and the other stuff GLADOS says can't be THAT funny/charming for so long.
I've played through Portal, and while I liked it, I would add that to my 'over-rated list', merely because I thought the most lasting part of the game was the song at the end. >>;

I got it about a year after it came out, and while it WAS very very pretty, the AI was frustratingly accurate from 100+ miles away and had some sort of SUPERSONIC hearing and vision so that sneaking was impossible. If I so much as nudged slightly anywhere in ANY direction I'll hear an enemy 4 rooms down go "What was that noise?"
It made me want to beat things.

The replay value isn't strong, and most of the reason I posted that in the first place was to prove that someone has played Portal more than once... who's not even a fan.
