Games that aren't all that

Deus Ex was a fun game, but it was not worthy of being called game of the year. And I beat this game twice.

Same with Bioshock. I beat it, and now I want my money back.

The sims. After 2 hours I starved them all, removed the toilets, and let the house burn down...Actually that was a lot of fun.

Yeah I agree with you on Bioshock, yeah it was decent but not as good as people make out.

Assassins Creed is really over rated imo, yeah sure the graphics were good and nice open world but I found the combat rather clunky feeling and a lot of the missions very buggy.

I thought Deus Ex was brilliant when it was released. If you played the game way after its prime it wouldnt be the same.

edit: thought id add in Halo series, I agree they are a good game but I dont understand how they get so highly rated, other games have the same flaws yet people pass them off as rubbish yet ignore them in a Halo game

Bioshock as well. I mean, it's a great story and all, but once you've beaten it, there's no real incentive besides the other ending to try it again.

I remember playing Assassin's Creed a while back, and I was surprised that people liked it as much as they did. The platforming wasn't done very well, IMO.

I'd have to say Half-Life 2. It just wasn't all that fun, especially the vehicle sections, which were a pain in the ass. Half of the time I would ditch the vehicle out of sheer frustration, only to find out later that I needed it to pass a patch of radioactive sludge. Then, lo and behold, I find out that I can't go back to when I ditched the vehicle. Restart game, anyone?

OK even I wouldn't call Bioshock that bad....And Fallout 3? I think Yahtzee's review sums that game up pretty well.

i couldn't get into either of them because they try to be realistic but fantasy at the same time. ie:big daddys still being steam powered. i suppose i didnt give fallout 3 much of a chance i played for the first 5 missions and got so bloody bored and confused i traded it in for whipde doo, bioshock
and theres that immersion raping fact that everyone in both games are so stiff when you talk to them. but hey just my opinion.

Little Big Planet. It's a cutesy platformer with a level designer. I got sick of it after about an hour, and the story mode is insubstantial - you're supposed to derive most of your fun from creating levels for other people to play, and finding other levels to play. The devs even had the nerve to bundle together the best community maps and sell them back to us. I paid full price for this? Oh wait, I didn't. It was (effectively) a gift because I returned a duplicate copy of Left 4 Dead I received for my birthday.
Why LBP was pitched as the next big thing is beyond me.

It's not terrible but I just don't see why it gets so much praise. I personally think some of the other FFs are much better.

Anywhoo...I'd say The Sims for one. So boring. x_x I can't stand to play for more than about fifteen minutes at a time. I don't see how people think it's so much fun.

Also Little Big Planet. That one bores me too. I have a friend that's ridiculously passionate over it and I just don't see it. Then again, she doesn't play all that many games so I guess I could see it in her case. A little anyways.

And while I do like it, I must throw it under the bus. Kingdom Hearts. The fandom for that is just spastic. >.o

Second on both. Final Fantasy VII, while it is a pretty decent game, I hardly think it's worth the fandom it gets and it's hardly the best of the series.
And The Sims, oh the The Sims; I get bored just thinking about the The Sims. I cannot imagine how that can be popular. I only played the original Sims, but I found it was exactly like Yahtzee described the Sims 3, you end up recreating that same work/sleep relationship that you usually play games to get away from. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!
