Are there any games that you have played where something has ruined the experience for you after starting, single or multi-player across all consoles / genres. Not including problems before playing the game (Install issues or problems when first running it)

My most recent game that is becoming unplayable is Modern Warfare 2 (PC) i get in a game and there's a hacker. So i wait till the end of the game i leave the lobby and join a new one on a different game type... another hacker. This repeated 4 or 5 times before i gave up. I've been finding this a lot recently and though I still enjoy the game its getting to the point i don't want to run the game anymore as it seems pointless, knowing every game i join will just end up with hackers.

Dead Rising - I just loved it so much and played it so long that I can't enjoy it anymore. There is nothing left to do that I haven't done and I have all the achievements.

Oblivion after the first bit when you realise the only good part of the game was Patrick Stewart.

All RTS games now that I've played Men of War and seen what RTS games can be.

Red Faction Guerrilla when a friend of mine who beat everything got the cheats. All he ever did afterwards was just fuck about with all the cheats on and then brag about how he can do all this really trivial bull-shit.

Timesplitters 2.

It's aiming is godawful, and it has nothing to do with the fact its on a console, Free Radical just made a new and very bad move when making the aiming.

There's no health restoration in the levels. Lose health and you never gain it back.

No hand models, gun just float in the corner.

No reload animation (except for the shotguns), the gun just tilts off the screen and it comes back up.

I'm so happy Future Perfect fixed all the problems.

Knights of the Old Republic II, the first part from Peragus until leaving Telos is so boring that it took me another playthrough after the first to not go so bored I quit in the middle of it. After that the game picks up a bit, but it's still glitchy (PC version at least) as hell.

Yeah, I agree with the OP about MW2. For me, what ruined it was 30% the game itself, and 70% being the people playing it.

Saw was so repetitive that I almost gave up on it. I did stick at it in the end and finished it, but only because it gave me so many trophies.
Final Fantasy XI online was the one that I just didn't have the patience for though. The online community was unhelpful and I got so bored of killing rabbits that I just didn't proceed anywhere in the game.

that's because they stuck with the Goldeneye 64 system (btw, they were the makers of Goldeneye) and TimeSplitters 3 does have the option of free aiming

now, on topic:

I'll have to say Ninja Blade for the pc (yeah I know, it's also on 360) I really liked that game and used to play the shit out of it (come on, ninjas vs zombies? how cool is that)

until one day I decided to watch the intro scene, and it started with a sexy young school girl (uniform and shit) transforming into a freaking mutant

god it was disturbing, I couldnt play it anymore after watching that, and it still haunts me
(just like the transformation scene of the girl at the cafe in Parasite Eve)

why does japan have to make damn cute girls, and then make them slowly (or disturbingly fast like in Ninja Blade) into horrifying mutants in such disturbing ways

You're asking Japan why they make weird and/or messed up stuff. You have much to learn.

Anyway: Dues Ex. I can't explain it, but it's so outdated I can't understand anything anymore.

Samurai Warriors 2. Me and my friend played that game for 30 hours over 2 days. We had so much fun that weekend but that has killed the game for both of us. Hell, it even killed the entire genre for me.

not really, I'm not asking why does japan make all that weird stuff. I'm more like "wtf", and yes, there's quite a lot of things yet to learn

btw OP, this is just a FYI, I've been playing MW2 for quite some time, and all I can say, is that only [wherever you are] have that many hackers, the gaming community down here is quite clean, the only hackers I've seen in this community are only on Counter Strike (yeah, just wanted to brag a little ^.^)

AVP, the newest game.

As soon as people stopped playing it online, it became unplayable.
Campaigns are so boring second time through.
And they are still releasing maps? No one plays it!

Am in England but usually only ever hear other europeans on mics. I havent played CS in a long time but do remember the occasional hacker appearing, at least there it was possible to votekick/ban or have an admin remove them instead of having to leave every game you get put into.

Your community may be clean for now but hacks spread!

Mariokart Wii and Modern Warfare 2 share the similar problems. So many hackers. And yet they won't do shit about it.

I'm usually pretty good with this. However, I'd choose Two Worlds. There had to be something that aggravated me to quit that early on. Maybe because I realised everything was finite... I found it depressing.

You know, they really should have made him a ghost that follows you around dispensing wisdom. Oh sure, it's annoying, but you'll forgive him because he's Patrick Stewart. Also, imagine the banter, it would be worth it.

Oblivion. I really wanted to like it. Heck the guy I bought it off of kept asking for updates on my progress in the game. I think the problem is that they don't hold your hand fr at least one mission. Instead you are thrown into a world where you know nothing of how things work or how things run.

Two Worlds. No explanation is needed but if you really do need it then here you go.
