Halo on the PC, as well as Quake 3. I played a lot of Q3, and I couldn't force myself to finish Halo. They have the same problem, I am 100% burnt on FPS games and those 2 are rather bland. But for some reason, I can still play Doom 2.

I also burnt myself of Total War games, and TW games made me hate the build-type RTS games like C&C. So the RTS genre joined the FPS one in the completly burnt division.

I used to like Final Fantasy games, until I played Mount&Blade which made me dislike most all other RPG's because M&B has some of the best combat in any game period and in comparison the other RPG's just fall on their face and weep.

After some night levels in the Wii version of Sonic Unleashed I gave up on the game. Sonic in the day moved too fucking fast, and the night levels were quite crap. They should make a new Sonic Adventure, but only have the Sonic levels (Tails in SA1 worked though, since it was the same gameplay except Tails had to fly).

Resident Evil 4. It's not like it was difficult at all, but the regenerator part was one thing that I had a hell of a time getting past. I was just so freaked out by their creepy movement and their unsettling gait. Also, nothing is more scary than blowing one of their heads off at point blank range, only to have them grab onto you anyway, grow their head back in an instant, and eat the shit out of your neck. It took me at least a week to get out that area. And don't even get me STARTED on those fucking Iron Maidens.

This, for the same reason.
And Silent Hill 4 for it's control scheme.

For me, the first Monkey Island game. I played it all the way through many times, but now I don't even struggle or have to think about the puzzles. There is little joy in solving a puzzle you already know.

Left 4 Dead 2. I played the single player campaign and was really excited to start playing Versus. After about 5 games I was done, and I haven't played it since. Worst online community ever.

Morrowind. I love that game to death, but I've played it so much that I swear I've done just about everything that I care to do :(

The Conduit. May not be a great game, but at the same time it's not horrible. Floating in mediocrity, except when it comes to multiplayer. I often get this shitty glitch where I'm floating in blackness, I can't pause, open home menu, etc., so I have to turn my Wii off just to get out of the match. Then, when I AM in a match (which is sometimes more frustrating than it's worth), there's always someone who has hacked or something along those lines. I'm getting sick of invincible players and rapid-fire rockets!

btw OP, this is just a FYI, I've been playing MW2 for quite some time, and all I can say, is that only [wherever you are] have that many hackers, the gaming community down here is quite clean, the only hackers I've seen in this community are only on Counter Strike (yeah, just wanted to brag a little ^.^)
Am in England but usually only ever hear other europeans on mics. I havent played CS in a long time but do remember the occasional hacker appearing, at least there it was possible to votekick/ban or have an admin remove them instead of having to leave every game you get put into.

Your community may be clean for now but hacks spread!
yeah I know, but please, PLEASE, dont burst my bubble T-T

Lost Planet. The ridiculous energy system just drained any interest I had in playing it.
Take a pun point for your crafty work there. I almost missed it...

Honestly, Bioshock.
I just do not care about all the complex story and the philosophy that weighed the game down from the start. Looking at it just as a game it was on par. Sure it looked pretty when you were looking out into what I imagine the new age version of Atlantis will look like. But then you realise that your not playing the game and have to glide off somewhere to shoot something and... oh who cares...
You know how much I don't care about Bioshock, I'm not even going to play Bioshock 2... Because I simply do not care and want nothing more than too whirl the disks (and their respecitve boxes) like ninja stars at people as they stagger home at two in the morning.
Its a maricle I even finished the first one.

Also the entire Halo franchise after I played through the campaign and then went online. By that time I figured I had lost enough IQ points too call it quits and went to play something more entertaining.
Sure I came back for ODST, because I was promised that I wasn't going to be chief, I was going to be a human trying to live up too chief, but I was going to be weaker and it would all make the Halo series struggle seem more human. But then I was able to melee my way through the first 2 levels and spam grenades like I was some kind of weaponised tennis ball launcher.

Other games, Gears of War 2 was unplayable for a while, after I spent the christmas it came out, sitting in the Tshirt playing the game and reading the book when I saw the words "Loading" on the screen. I think I O.D.-ed on it but I go back too it every now and against for some good old fashioned chainsaw-gun fun!

Oh and lets not forget Alone in the Dark for the xbox 360... that doesn't need an explanation, it was just bad.

Diablo 2. Such a good game but played it to death. Every year I reinstall the game and make a new character only to hit myself because I've played it to death so many times. That being said I'm looking forward to Diablo 3.
Same here, have it installed at the moment. Another thing for me is the 90 day char expiry. When i do finally play it again i dont mind starting over but it bugs me a bit having lost everything.

I never played this game when it was new and got it not too long ago. I felt the same trying to play it.

Agreed, I remember one time figuring I coud slow it down by blowing it's legs off, the ****ing thing propelled itself with it's arms and tore my neck to bits. Also killing one down a hall only to turn around and see one five feet away (imagine the state of my pants at that point). The eyes freaked me out, so did the heavy breathing, and the fact that they're like 8 feet tall with razer sharp teeth.

Ghostbusters.

How could they have got it so WRONG? The dialogue was painful, the story so contrived and OTT it was too hard to follow at times and the actual mechanic of Ghostbusting was "improved" for no real reason.

If that were not bad enough, when I finally completed it, my game had a glitch that skipped the final cutscene (even in reloads and even a re-install AND a fresh playthrough) and went straight to the credits. I had to look on WikiPedia to find out what happened!

I sold the game on eBay not long after I got it.
