Games that bore you the most...

You know that a game's bad when you're bored of it quickly, or bored of it straight away...unfortunately, there are some games that result in just that...

Okay, admittedly, not all games that bore you are bad (for instance, some parts of Assassin's Creed are really tedious and dull, but it's still a good game!)

So what game bores YOU the most? Remember, it doesn't necessarily have to be a BAD game, just a game that has made you bored at one point...

This may sound strange but, the combat segments of the Xenosaga games.

Xenosaga, for those who don't know, is a series of JRPGs that take the Japanese art of storytelling to a level previously unheard of. Literally 60-70% of the game is cinematic.

Because it's like that, I always looked at Xenosaga as a semi-interactive movie and, thanks to my love of a good story, I always found myself getting bored and irritated with the combat because it always seemed like it was trying to get in my way before I could find out 'what happens next'.

Halo... I got bored with that game so quickly, I played it to the end but it was simply the first 5 minutes copied and pasted a thousand times.
In addition FFX-2, whilst the story was reasonably interesting the way it was told was boring. In addition the actual play mechanics I found frustrating and ultimately grind-tastic, more so than usual.

Half-Life 2. Remember playing the original for hours and hours on end; I'm lucky if I could play HL-2 for more than an hour

Baldurs Gate 2:TOB was pretty boring

I got bored of Grand Theft Auto IV withing days of me playing it. To be fair I have played every single Grand Theft Auto game out there (except for london and GTA 1), but I think I may have just lost interest in the entire series around the time you had to do the tedious gang wars in San Andreas (which I also gave up on as well).
I know exactly what you mean, I'm not sure whether it was San Andreas in particular or whether I'd just played GTA for too long but San Andreas was the GTA that caused it to stop being fun.
In all fairness if you've played GTAII then you can hazard a pretty good guess at GTA I + London.

Yep, the same happened to me too. I still go back to HL1 nowadays and run through the game as fast as possible, I find the bugs/glitches that cause parts to be skipped fun. HL2 I've only completed once, I've gone back and redone certain bits, Ravenholm and the Citadel comes to mind but really I have no idea... I may just be falling out of love with gaming.

Grinding in Odin Sphere was such a repetitive, boring experience that I couldn't continue the game, despite how good the rest of it was.

Most PC strategy games. I want to like them so bad, and I'll try a bunch of different ones to see if one will actually be enjoyable, but once I finally understand most of the basics I'm way too bored to even touch the game anymore.

Grind in WoW, but I really like the game as a whole anyways, so I power through to get to the fun parts. Also Assasin's Creed, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE the game, so I keep going. Well...actually, the only 'boring' parts of it are the slowing down parts, the sneaky parts. I'm not much of a stealthy person, I'm more into killing the guards for fun and then hiding away. Unless I need to, or if it's a battle priority, I don't assasinate.

Xenogears is way better than Xenosaga and if you can find it I recommend getting it (it's also about 5x longer).
I've got it, but my disc is scratched and it won't move past a certain point @_@

I know I'm going to get lynched for this - the Metal Gear Solid games.

I played the original in its entirity, couldn't force myself through 2, just recently went back and finished Snake Eater after a year long hiatus and I just cannot get fired up about 4. It all boils down to the mind-numbing onslaught of cutscenes and dialogue. The stealth action really appeals to me and is well done but it is mercilessly broken up. In MGS3 when you fight Volgin in the Shagohod I swear I spent 40% of the time fighting it and 60% of the time watching cutscenes of it shooting guys and crashing through stuff. I got all excited when I heard the PS2 drive spin up, thinking it was returning me to the action, but no it was just loading a continuation of the cutscene! It's not on.

The games have some memorable moment, especially the boss battles, but I just can't handle the stop/start gameplay.

While I'm here I might as well +1 for Assassins Creed. The game was great once you got to your target destination; it was the getting to the town that made my heart sad.

I think all of assassins creed is great the mini-quests were cool running around and helping the civilians and killing guards for fun stealing extra blades from thugs.
