Any Pokemon game containing the Battle Tower / Battle Frontier. Once you get past a certain point (read: the first round of battles) the game starts chucking in "lucky" items to use against you...which almost always activate just when you need them not to.

Actually, if you are in Soul Form it makes things easier for you...
Yes, Yes it does,

Soul forms advantage is better statistical micrometrics, boosted percentages in your favor that helps unless you were already in soul form when you died. So if you stay in living form when you die being in soul form is an advantage, but if your in a tough area and in soul form when you die, when you respawn you will see you do still have the advantage of boosted percentages but the NPCs will behave more aggressively

Morrowind, and some of the higher-level mages.
Recently I played the PC version (I have the XBox version), and I noticed that some of the spells cast use more magicka than what the character has, or that they cast them faster than a magicka regen could allow.
That and NFS Carbon, with the FUCKNG RUBBER BAND SYNDROME.

In fighting games, when the AI CLEARLY reads your button presses and reacts BEFORE THE MOVE COMES OUT. Their reflexes are just inhuman and that takes away from the game if you like you play "arcade style".

Also when they themselves perform light speed actions like 720 motions on the joystick without jumping or hiding it within another move.

Also in racing games, when you get really far ahead, they'll suddenly speed up and catch up to you. No matter what cars you guys are using.

I gotta vote for FFXIII. Specifically fighting Long Gui or Shalong Gui while under-powered. Theoretically, with the correct tactics you should be able to defeat any enemy with the correct strategy. But when you are not very powerful this is close to impossible against these enemies. They have an attack called Bay which is a scream that takes your entire energy, if not kills you. Now, if you have sentry mode activated you can negate about a third of this attack. However, not all your characters will have sentry abilities (or decent ones at least) and Bay can be activated within 1 second. This means your lead character MUST have sentry skills and you have literally an instant to activate them if Bay occurs. Factor all this in and add this too - this enemy has another ultimate attack called Ultima and it has activated Bay on me 3 times in a row simply due to the fact it was about to die. I call cheating. It's simply not fun when you work out a genuine tactic only to have your enemy spam their ultimate attacks.

Dawn of War and the expansion packs. More often than not the enemy will build the strategic point defense towers out on open ground, and the AI doesnt have squad or vehicle caps.

Bloody AI. It cheats! It frickin' CHEATS! No one can build a factory that fast. I know, because I've tried!
Also they are able to build multiple structurs simultaneously, train multiple units at the same time and seem to have infinite resources.

Agreed. You'd be amazed how many times I had to go through the lighting cup on mirror just because the computer decides to cheat with as many blue shells as possible.

All games with infinitely spawning enemies. And turn based games. Combat does not occur in turns. You just attack untill the other guy is dead. Pausible real time is ok though.

Risk: Factions. That game fudges dice rolls every fucking time. You roll a six on attacking? It rolls a six. You roll a two on attacking? It rolls a two. It attacks and rolls a six? You roll a one. Because of that I didn't buy it.

Say hello to my team's saviour for that battle Clubbed (it was funnier when he was a seel...)

One hit kills all dragonites with an ice beam - i love it to bits

I remember there is this race in AC:brotherhood that you have to beat in a fast time already but even faster for full synch to be that "perfect assassin". Now on the route of the race you have to pass around 4-5 crossbow guards - who are pretty dam accurate and if they hit you while jumping/balancing you can be sure to fail. A timed acrobatic race is fun, doing while under crossbow fire is not.

Dawn of War especially Dark Crusade

- Infinite resources
- Can see you through fog of war (tested)
- And in the campaign if the AI has two HQs it has two squad caps meaning double the number of enemies INCLUDING Unique units!

I reckon. They can control every single unit at once were we can only control one! Tis most bullshittits
In total agreement there, I've seen Civ 3 pull some pretty questionable shit.

Two cases in point I can think of: the Apprentice in Soul Calibur 4 and Hakumen in BlazBlue. Now the Apprentice is practically broken as it is due to having force powers and all, so I can kinda understand the difficulty but the computer's speed with him is just ridiculous. Further, he is an example of your first point, blocking everything you throw at him and responding before you have any chance to block his own moves. Hakumen is an example of your second point. You can totally see it. If I'm playing as Hakumen, he's slow as hell and takes forever to charge his special moves. But if the computer's got him, he gains special abilities in less than a second and unleashes them ridiculously fast, compounded by the fact that he's just 300% my own speed with Hakumen to begin with.

Some Strategy games are evil. Sometimes the enemies get hightier units or huge amounts of resources early on in the game and just flat out fuck you up.When me and a friend in Company of Heroes were playing a compstomp, the enemy plain out fucking rushes early on in the beginning with a fuckin King Tiger. And we were like...WTF?! We only had riflemen and a few light vehicles, wich is normal that early on.

To be fair, some RTS games don't cheat. They have others ways of messing you up.
Advance Wars for example doesn't need to cheat, since you and the AI opponent don't always start on the same level, especially in the campaign. While you're there with a factory and a few infantry units the opposition already has a few ports, an airport, a battleship fleet and a few Megatanks rolling casually to join boot with ass.
Megatanks > You

Left 4 Dead (2) on expert. Hunters / jockeys suddenly decide that they can slap you down 20 hp whilst stunned by a shove and the damage increase on jockey's is disproportional to the difficulty, they become stronger than hunters -_-. That, and chargers somehow gain an instant recharge on their charge if they kill someone whilst charging meaning that they can wipe a group far too easily. It's nothing like what you can do on versus

Starcraft 1's AI on custom maps must have been spawning resources since it made things far too quickly and was straight unfair as terran. At least they got a little retarded when they needed an expansion :)

Gears of War 2 on insane (excl campaign). Bots somehow manage to perfectly no scope headshot the second after sprinting with the sniper

The fact that almost all RTS's have AI's that just know where you are and where you have expanded to without any form of recon whatsoever

At least all of the above are dealable though, generally a bit irritating but nothing too bad. Can't think of any more

Oh wait, solitaire on the iPod mini. There was always a point where you could move 2 cards to 1 location (i.e. a 7 of spades and clubs are available on 2 different collums with a 8 of hearts on another collum), one of which led to the end game and the other guaranteed a loss and the AI seemed to love to make the latter occur for whichever one I picked -_-

The vast majority racing games cheat with elastic AI.. you know, if they get to far behind the get a speed boost and if they get too far ahead they slow right down... annoys the hell out of me.

ZombieGenesis said:

Even the ones that don't break the games rules still cheat by doing several things at once, i.e. while a player can only manage the units on screen the AI will manage all the units on the map simultaneously... that annoys me. Perhaps just because I'm crap at RTS :-/
