Games that do NOT/did NOT deserve a sequel

Bioshock. Great game, but it did not need a sequel.

I agree it was really good and so I tried the sequel and it sucked badly you basically do the same thing in each level.hunt down little sisters,fight big sisters,find a person you must kill to unlock next level.

In contrast, Zone of the Enders was pretty poor but ZoE2 was a massive improvement, just an amazing game

But OT: I agree with Bioshock. I did enjoy Bioshock 2 a hell of a lot but it was kinda unnecessary

I wouldn't say that FFX didn't deserve a sequel, but it didn't need one. Plus, it didn't help that FFX-2 was completely horrible.

And I'm just gonna go ahead and say it, Final Fantasy as a whole. I'm fine with you making the games, as they really are only related to one another in flavor and name, but ffs, your just milking the final fantasy name when you get to 13, Versus 13, and Agito(?) 13. Come on.

They said ages and ages ago that FF13 was just one part of a trio of games based in the same universe. Also you can hardly complain about FF for this with Mario and Zelda and Pokemon.

I think there are more FF games than Zelda ones, though there are more pokemon and mario games. Regardless, I still don't see how that makes over forty games bearing the Final fantasy name any less clearly milking the name. Some of those games (Final Fantasy tactics comes to mind) literally only resemble FF in name (and the added chocobo and pheonix down)

Games use to be bigger. Now they're sliced up into small tasteless chunks.

And those small, tasteless chunks are sold as DLC. So in a way, we're getting half of a game, and the rest is held hostage.

Yeah, but they sell games on Steam for like 1/16 of the regular price to make up for it.

Halo 3-> ODST Sure it might of been a fun game, but I didn't really feel like Halo NEEEEDS another game...from a diffrent angle sure I'm going to get flak for this but the idea of Reach is good. The Halo before it was Halo. Not the "What if Halo was from a different angle"

Oh sure, that casting could of been good, and the gameplay fun. But did you really NEEEEED it?

Although I do like that there is a Portal 2 coming out and I am going to buy it, I just can't get the thought that they're just trying to distract us from Half-Life Episode 3.

Yes, but then I remembered games are simply getting shorter as the years go on.

I'm getting a little tired of people complaing about Valve not updating TF2 on consoles. Valve wanted to and planned on it, but both Microsoft and Sony wanted to charge money for the updates which would have caused more shit to hit the fan. Therefore, updates were never released and all hope was lost.



OT: Sequels are good and all if they bring something new to the table or expand and improve on a great story that left room for improvement.

Sequels that just piggy-back on the original game's fame deserve to die.

I pity the people who forego one of the best iterations of the ATB system AND the job system just because the game is too j-pop for them... I mean, I understand if your senses are offended, but you should learn to put up some shields and appreciate the really really good parts of the game.

And LOL@ "FFX has a generic story"...
