Almost any game from the polygon 3D era (~PS1) era. Horrible to look at at the time, and even worse now that we're no longer impressed by the fact they're using 3D graphics.
Such as driver 1, or medal of honor underground.

Medal of honor in general.

Halo and Halo 2.
They look hideous.

Personally i have somewhat of an affinity for old style pc games, mainly the sprite based ones and thing like Unreal tournament, it looks like arse but it's a lumpy nostalgic arse rought with fond memories.

Weirdly enough, I still play Perfect Dark every single day. Perhaps it's just nostalgia, but fuck it, it's still fun! Timesplitters 2 is better though.

However, Deus Ex, that which so astounded me back in 2000, has aged about as well as cream does if you leave it in the sun. The AI is jaw droppingly terrible. They're all freaking myopic! The graphics, inconsequential as they may be, have not aged well, the gunplay is horrible, the acting has only got worse with age. It's just bad now, which is depressing, because back when it came out, it was revolutionary. I suppose everyone just copied its great ideas, and did it better. Such is life.
If only there was a good emulator of the original Perfect Dark...I do agree with you on Timesplitters though. Those games are just Goldeneye/Perfect Dark on crack. And I love 'em.

CNC:Tiberian Sun.Now damn this game aged horribly for me even with the graphics mods. Most of the missions seem slow and annoying...I just ruined the wonderful memories by playing it recently. The movies are still enjoyable and worth playing just for that. The controls are shit tho most deffinately although I could just be spoiled with other more recent cncs.
Are they? I played through it recently and found it fine. Did you turn the speed up?
I did of course...But the missions bottle down to frequent saving and grinding away your opponent with the same units.I dunno I just had that warm fuzzy feeling of an epic game and it's not there now because I'm spoiled with modern CNCs.

Chromehounds didnt age very well. Im pretty sure that game lived for about 6 months then dissapeared off the face of the earth. No one I know has played it

Also, the medal of honor games aged terribly. I bought a collectors edition with a few of the old games in it because it was going cheap. Not even the nostalgia glasses could save it

The original Diablo, aaargh. I don't know about the second one but I bought the first on reputation and really didn't like it. Combat came down to how many health potions you had and it was impossible to find your way around the floors because of the dodgy isometric view.

Perfect Dark. I wish it wasn't true, but today, it's really not so great.
I bought that on Xbox Live despite having never played the original. This purchase was PURELY based on it's reputation. I REGRET IT WITH EVERY FIBER OF MY BEING.
Really? Huh funny.

I think for 800ms points to "REGRET IT WITH EVERY FIBER OF YOUR BEING" is a bit extreme.

I enjoy the fact that I get to play the game on a console that supports its framerate (it had issues on the 64) and the fact that I get to play with bots. The combat simulator give me lots of time to play multiplayer without having to deal with the cesspool that is XBL.

I understand that "it's no COD of Halo" but its not the worst FPS ever made gosh golly gee whiz.

Most 3D games, return to Castle Wolfenstein has like 3 death animations for all the nazis and it looks very primitive.

Rome Total War looks pretty crap these days. And sadly, Devil May Cry 3 has aged rather quickly.

Any sports game more than 2 or 3 years old. Never mind the 90s ones people go "Who was that?" (Specifically "Double Dribble".)

Phantasy Star Online, the controls aren't very good for the guns in it.
Though if we are going with graphics, I would say many games during the N64 and PS1 Era.

As much as I love the first silent hill I have to admit its graphics have not aged well at all. This has taken away from some of the game's scary moments but it can still get me in a few situations. Also, medievil. I loved that game when it came out. Now it's kinda crappy.

I think the thread should be retitled "Nostalgia being obliterated by replaying old games."

Yeah, Silent Hill 1 is harder to get immersed in than it used to be, although 2 still looks good enough to get me good and scared. I think it's that the grainy, faded look of it has more longevity than shiny graphics that are superseded fairly quickly.

Although I strongly disagree with Medieval, It's still great fun to play and has a very unique feel to it that few other games do. But mebbe I'm bias because I love any games that have that particular kind of British humour. Like Hogs Of War. :D
