How could I have forgotten all the time I wasted with the pokemon games. Well, up until crystal anyway.

Anyway, more to add:
The Megaman X series
Final Fantasy Tactics
Metal Gear Solid 1-3 (no PS3 sadly)
Conker's Bad Fur Day
Super Smash Bros. (N64)

Starcraft is the only game I ever felt was worth buying over and over again no matter how many times my game "went missing."

For a one time purchase, Borderlands feels like it was worth it though =].

Deadly Premonition - 20 dollars for an open world horror mystery and the laughably bad voice overs from House of the Dead? Count me in.

Divinity II: Ego Draconis - This was a beautiful game and gaining the powers of a dragon sealed my enthusiasm.

Risen - Piranaha Bytes really impressed me with this game, which played like a much improved Gothic.

Borderlands - Getting new uber weapons in this game never gets old.

Torchlight - $20 at retail. 36 levels with countless other dungeons, and a simple over arching quest to go with superpowered loot.

Saint's Row 2 - Because spraying people with sewage and peds bouncing like rubber balls are far funnier than anything Brucie has said in his life.

City of Heroes/Villains/Going Rouge - I've been a fan of DC's superheroes in the Justice League since I was seven.

Upcoming games that I believe will be worth the full retail -

DC Universe Online
Two Worlds 2
Duke Nukem Trilogy
Duke Nukem Forever - Yes, this game is on my list, and for what it's worth, I believe this game will see the light of day.
Arcania: A Gothic Tale
Civilization V

Games that I don't regret buying eh... This should be a fairly exhaustive list.

Crysis [footnote]Worlds ahead of every other FPS I've played, despite being several years old now[/footnote]
Half life 2 episode 1[footnote]the only steam game I've bought and not regretted, as it was the first it gave access to the SDK and the mods, without which it wouldn't have been worth my $20[/footnote]
Metal gear solid [footnote]incredibly fun game, I count 1,2 and 4 in this.....if anyone knows where I can get a copy of 3 for PAL ps2, I'd be much obliged[/footnote]
Brutal legend
Call of duty
Call of duty 2
Zelda OoT/Majoras mask
Zelda: a link to the past
Zelda: phantom hourglass
Mariokart 64
Super mario 64
Gran Tourismo 5: Prologue
Assasins creed + 2 (PS3, not worth a cent with the retarded PC DRM)
Killing Floor
Halo:CE
Morrowind GOTY(how in gods name did I forget it )

I'd really like to include mirrors edge, but it was far too short :\ I'd also include the Orange box, if I'd bought it, but as I got 2 copies of the Black box with my Graphics cards, I didn't bother.

In recent memory I'll go with Mass Effect 2, Bioshock 2, Arkham Asylum and Assassin's Creed 2

Most games are certainly not worth the money though.. Probably about 80% of games released are not. Hence why I don't buy them.

Well, the most recent game I purchased at full price was Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and despite the painfully mediocre single-player campaign, the multiplayer is a freaking blast, and I'll have to say that the 55 hours or so I've spent playing the MP is worth the 69 bucks I spent on the game.

The God of War Collection was definitely worth the 40 bucks I spent on it, and I'm pretty sure I payed the full 65 dollar price tag for Uncharted 2 - once again, totally worth it. I'll also have to add Fallout 3 - although I got the game as a gift, I ended up paying close to the full retail price when I bought all the DLC packs; although The Pitt and Mothership Zeta were pretty good and okay respectively, Broken Steel and Point Lookout alone were worth the $50 dollars.

As contraversial as it would be to mention, the only one recently for me has been Far Cry 2.

Yes, the game did drag on, but it kept me going for months, and there was a heck of a lot of enjoyment in that game.

I almost feel ashamed I only got if for £10 actually. I would've been willing to have paid the full RRP but then I remember they didn't release as demo AND added DRM. Stupid, stupid Ubisoft!
Ew

Thats my most regretted purchase, i couldnt bring myself to finish it :(
