Warcraft III, Halo: CE, and Super Smash Bros. are the 3 that got me into competitive gaming. I guess those would probably be the most influential games in my life.

horror games/movies changed my entire childhood, like really changed it, i had a flashlight on me 24/7 for 5-6 years, but then came my love for stealth games and now i only feel safe in the corners of dark empty houses, but then again they are also the main reason im terrified every time someone yells out my name.

also rts and building sims pretty much ruined my long life dream of being a politician, cause after realizing i cant build 3 houses whit out going bankrupt or getting killed i choose not to pursuit it.

now im a bartender and i have yet to play a game that will convince me that i can be the reason for entire cities or empires being killed by pouring some guy a beer.

maybe next year

Pokemon. I remember playing Blue as a kid and being amazed about how much there was to do. Although it hasn't helped with my physical life(Far from it), it makes me seek out games that have a kind of long term appeal. Hell, I still play Pokemon to this day. Pokemon also taught me things like being fair to opponents (From Link Battles) in whatever I do.

PaRappa the Rapper genuinely changed my life. Now every time I see a onion, a moose, a frog, a chicken, or a flea.. I start rapping.

LMAO. Best reply yet I think :)
The music and dance mat games are pretty awesome for changing the music we love...because of ps1 dance mat games...I'll always love terrible club music.

They've basically all changed me in some subtle way or other. Starcraft gets a shout for destroying the whole 'social life' thing, while MGS3 has probably come the closest to actually affecting me on an emotional level.

Beat me to it. Bioshock really changed my view on FPS games and the way that story is neglected in other games(especially Halo 3, the story just seems so empty. Also made me briefly stop and consider the power of the NPC. Now just to find this system shock 2 game every one says is it's successor.

But before I go I just want to ask "Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow"

Most definately Ocarina of Time it showed me that even when your some kid in the forest you can still make it out and save the world and make a difference to everyone. especially when you meet all of the characters and see how much different the world is because of your actions it made me think about stuff like global citizenship and what have you although I was pretty young when I played it so concepts like these were much more generalized :p
