My two times:
When the Hunter almost killed Alyx.
When the Advisor killed Eli, and the screen fades to black, the only noise is Alyx sobbin.

OMFG! Why has nobody seen the darkness ending? Thats the only game that has made me cry ever. Not even a movie or tv show has made me cry.
(It's sadder if you've actually played through the game, and i recommend you do, as you can stab people with your tentacles and eat their hearts. You're the guy on my avatar btw.)

I have threatened to see if I could achieve it, but I would fail and insult its awesomeness. If I ever go to a LARP or a D&D convention, I might try.

Syberia 2.

The scene where Kate watches Hans ride away with the Mammoths

Oh and epic, long JRPGs sometimes can have that effect too. Such as Grandia 2.

Let's see:
Eli's Death was sad
Both Saren's and Fai Dan's suicides
Exactly, same here.

Mass Effect's ending made me release one happy tear tho. I felt so proud.
And that children is the sign of a good, immersive game.

Oddly enough I had come close to having a bit of a blub-fest when playing Medal of Honor: Frontline for the first time. It was during the Dutch levels where the city was completely ruinined, British and German soldiers were slaughtering each other like pigs - all while "Arnhem Knights" was playing.

As I was low on health, I had to take the level slowly and watching even pixelated troops killing each other in vicious firefights like that made me think of the troops who take part in war.

Fallout 3 brought a reacton out of me when
Your dad kills himself so the enclave won't get the code out of him
I would use the term Sacrifice but yeah, it was a sad moment in Fallout 3

Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core. Was holding back tears, even though the ending was obvious to anyone who played the first.
It's the way they make it happen. I had to keep composure as other people were around.

Flower almost made me cry at one point.

"No old friend, you've freed us all."
A tear shed for this great loss.
Same here with that scene, yet another Warcraft tear was shed when...
Arthas kills his own father. Also when Arthas turned Sylvanas into banshee instead of killing her.

Haven't cried, but nearly did with:
seeing the good ending with Jack on his deathbed surrounded by the Little Sisters he saved & raised.
Eli telling Alyx to not look moments before he's killed by a combine adviser.Seeing Alyx just sobbing over her father's body is heart wrenching.
In the mission 'Game Over', you and your mates are making a desperate attempt to escape, but only to fail at the end due to an exploding tanker. With you lying there unable to do anything as you see your teammates all die around you. You alone survive, with your last site being a medic desperately trying to save Capt. Price in futility.

The "I love you" line had me choking and I'm not ashamed to say I finally dropped a tear or two with the "never forget them..." line at the end.
