The good ending of inFamous 2..

When Cole Activated the RFI and killed himself and all conduits on earth to kill the beast

I have never sobbed so freakin much..

RIP Cole McGrath
this but not because he dies, because sucker punch has the balls not to extend the IP past it's braking point. tears of joy.
Thanks for ruining infamous 2 for me
you are welcome. Of course if you didn't see the heroic sacrifice coming you might as well crawl back under your rock.

I almost cried when
E-102y (or simply "Gamma") died at the end of his story.

well i never actually cried at a game. just not an emosial responce i use like that. but some endings have been incredibly affecting on me. the first comeing to mind is persona 4. especially the good ending. i mean i just saved the fucking world and now i'm suposed to leave my friends behind(well untill some kind of holiday at least) oh and don't give me crap like they'll be sad too yeah true they lost a friend too... but MC just lost every single friend he had includeing girlfriend... talk about harsh.

also about aeriths death... honestly screw that. for a death like that to be emotional the charecter has to be likeable as a start but i digress. i'd rather nominate galufs death in FF 5.

Infamous 2, almost. Metal Gear Solid 4 (pretty much when everyone started to bite it, particularly Big Boss) and Valkyria Chronicles (ISARAAAA!)
I think I suppressed Valkyria Chronicles from my memory, that scene was just so depressing.

I actually cried when in FF7 that love interest girl dies.

Sorry guys. I still think that the FF games are awesome.
........ =_= really? i just got finished explaining to someone why everything about the FF series sucks. all of those characters are cut and paste shallow anime characters with anime reactions to everything.

go try Mafia 2 when joe's kid friend dies.

Mafia 2 when joe's kids friend dies. at first, he annoyed me a little, but just when i started to love him, he gets his damn brains blown out the window, and then joe has an alcoholic depression, it was awful to watch.

I was thinking that I've never cried at a game and then I remembered Crisis Core. I cried like a little girl at the end of that game. No manliness there whatsoever.

Aside from that, never. I just don't find most games emotionally engaging in that way.

REAL MEN DON'T CRY. j/k

OT: I don't think there has ever been a scene where I was on the verge of crying. Yes, I have felt deeply sad during some scenes but I have never cried. Closest thing would prolly be from Chrono Trigger.

Crisis core and dear god did I cry at that.
FF10; that was just a little tear running down my cheek,I'm still tuff... right?
Can I just say that even though ANYONE who played Final Fantasy VII knew how that game was going to end, we all secretly hoped it wouldn't because Zack is just so awesome D:

Hm. I never cried at a game - I don't really cry at sorrow all that much IRL either - but I did feel saddened in a few games.

The most recent game which made me feel sad was the ending of Half Life 2: episode 2. I felt so sorry for Eli, and the sobbing sound of Alyx didnt' make it much better. It helpd alot that Valve put them down as believable characters, so that their deaths weren't throw-aways.

Then there are a bunch of old SNES games that made me sad. Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinistrals has a bittersweet ending where the protagonist and his wife dies, which didn't make me cry but it was rather sad.
I also found certain keypoints in Illusion of Gaia to be rather depressing.

This may sound pretty silly but...Dynasty Warriors 7.

The Wei story ending. I just felt so sorry for Xiahou Dun...I mean, he's lost a close friend (Dan Wei), one cousin (Xahou Yuan), then his second cousin as well (Cao Cao) and he seems pretty close to all of them. It depresses him so much that finally killing Guan Yu doesn't even make him happy.

I'm gonna have to agree with Sarukin. It was so over done that I don't understand how people didn't see it coming. The scene itself is really quite well done, but the build up ruined it. I did think that the one Gear's (Tal or something like that) was pretty unexpected and hit home a lot better. Didn't make me tear up but had way more of an impact than Maria on me.
It wasn't that people didn't see it coming, it's just the scene was done so well most people can't help but to get emotional over it. Nobody will argue that the whole business with Maria wasn't played out as well as it could've been but it's no so bad if you can look past the fact that there was almost no mention of her in the first game.

And I agree, nobody expected Tai to go out like that. It was a sad day for us all.

Valkyria Chronicles really made me tear up when
Isara died, but I really started to lose it when Rose started singing.
Now, I can never hear that song without setting off a reaction. lol
