Tetris for the Amiga, the music was just so sad.

Also reminded me of loved ones I'd lost.

Same goes for Lemmings, actually, sad music reminded me that my cat had just died.

Games that actually made me cry for game-related reasons?

...

...

Umineko got me all red-eyed in a few places, but actually crying? No.

OHSHI-Wait, I can't forget about Drakengard. Depressing as shit, worst was in Drakengard 2.

Fuck that, and the kicker is by having her killed he dies as well because of their pact from the first game.

Watery eyes.
First time in a long time that I've been ninja'd in one of these threads. The Drakengard series is one of the few series to move me emotionally, and it is why I love them so very much.

Shadow of the Colossus. Every. Single. Time. I get too attached to my horse and before that last battle kills me every time.

I cried after completing MW3 over a few hours earlier today, thinking 'how the hell is this this piece of crap the best selling game of the year?'

'How could such dross be held up as a great game for new gamers, and the world at large?'

In the old days of PC gaming circa Half Life 1 (before and after) it would've barely qualified as an add on. I've spent longer on the bog trying to squeeze one out.

Admittedly, would've cried more if I had actually bought the game instead of borrowing it. And I cried more that time on the bog.

I don't know what's going to happen during The Last Guardian, but I feel like crying just thinking of just how potentially sad it could be.

World in Conflict, the cutscene where Captain Bannon calls and gets his mothers answering machine, the things he says and his mothers anguish at hearing him die at Cascade Falls then to listen to the message on the machine cut close and put tears in my eyes because of what my mother would go though if I die/had died in the military.

I didn't cry, but Mother 3 got me all choked up. The Mother series is notorious for some pretty amazing final bosses (Giygas anyone?) But Mother 3 had probably the most emotionally exhausting final battle I've ever seen in a video game. It's even more amazing because it's basically only sprites, text, and music.
