Thief.... Deadly Shadows more than the others though.

And Tropico (that's right, TROPICO. What's more badass (or tyranical) than pandering to one faction and imprisoning all the other factions leaders... and their wives.... and their grandparents. It may sound a bit weird but man was it fun.

I know I've been ninja'd but...

Prototype
Conan
Evil Dead: Fist Full of Boomstick
Evil Dead: Regeneration
God of War series is meant to feel badass so that, of course.

There are a few others but I can't think of them.

It just pissed me off when I had to explain to every passer by why there was so much fucked up shit going on. I had to finish the game for the story, some of it was a bit, overly brutal. I didn't understand how ordinary(?) people could take that punishment. For example, the jester.
Is that the bit in the doll factory?

I know what you mean, but I usually just put it down to general insanity and a lack of self-preservation. And drugs. Lots of drugs.

I was also a little confused as to why all the 'hobos' were built like tanks, and I was pretty sure I shot the injured Serial Killer X in the first game....
Good game though, particularly the forensics, well implemented. Some genuine scares as well.
Again, insanity, alcohol and drugs :) The whole point with SKX is that it was a non-lethal injury, it just blew half of his face off. He scares me...

I know what you mean about the scares, some parts of that game terrified me. Escpecially the hunting lodge. I was not

expecting a fucking rabid bear to burst in and try to chew me into teeny little bits.

Ninja Gaiden, at least the one for the XBOX.

Remember how hard the game was the first time through? And the second? Remember how much time you've put into the game, how often you got killed, how many times you almost gave up, only to come back two days later? How you finally managed to complete the game on the highest difficulty after months of playing?

Now go back. Turn the difficulty back to the (already difficult enough for most) lowest difficulty, and start over again. There's no greater feeling in the videogame world than perfectly breezing through a game you thought was the hardest thing ever.

There's no way you won't be screaming "I am the invincible super-ninja, bitches! Bring it on!" at the screen. Or at the very least thinking it.

I'm embarrassed by how many times I got stuck (or clipped) on a particular object (I believe it was a fallen rack), resulting in my gruesome death.

I think it was because I was tired and it was late, but the police station hallucination nearly got to me.
I'm surprised at how easily I got through it. I think adrenaline may have had something to do with it... Still, I was shit-scared.

The police station bit was creepy, and the bowling alley bit freaked me out, as did the end bit.

I think I can safely say that the whole game creeped me out o_O

Oblivion once I get the 100% Chameleon suit. Making short (and cheap, yes, I admit it) work of anyone foolish enough to oppose me never gets old.

I would have to say Soul Reaver, there is something very fun about throwing other vampires into water or impaling them. Also Spider Man 2 once you get good at it.

The game that gave me that feeling the most was Persona 4, near the end. It was a combination of the awesome story and characters and the epic battles which almost made me feel my character's scars from his long journey on my own body, having paid every kind of price imaginable, exhausted, estranged, silent and ready to pick up the katana one last time. Fucking..awesome..game.
