My epitome of video game meaning. Fun meter into overdrive, skill meter into hyperdrive and destruction into FTL drive. I can't find faults except for the menus but who fucking cares !

TAKEDOWNS GALORE ! WHOOOOOOO !
I could never agree more. This game is the gold standard for arcade racing, besides later-stage ai and those. FUCKING. PEDESTRIAN CARS!

I'd say Orcs must die.
Not too hard but challenging packed with unparalleled humor.

I loved every second I played

OT: Skyrim. It's Oblivion with MOAR. Sure it's built more for console players so there's more hand-holding but it's still MOAR.
Exactly, it's Oblivion with more, all Oblivions flaws, but more!
OT: Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, when it came out, it got the same treatment the Heros from most "true" Might and magic fans as being a shitty spin off, and generally didn't get the best reviews. It's probably the greatest first person action game of all time.

FF12 for me. That game has a great story, great characters (ignoring Vaan), and a different but good style of combat. It's probably my favorite FF game of all time, specifically because of this man right here:

A sky pirate. Voiced by Gideon Emery. Fantastic to look at. There's a reason why he never leaves my party once I get him.

Captcha: mouth watering... Even the captcha wants him!
Respectfully, I must disagree about FF12. I really despised the battle system. I found it to be slow, clunky and mechanical. You run out of MP absurdly quickly, and enemies and bosses can drop your party members really easily, even after buffing. The money system is terrible, as well; you get practically NOTHING from the trash loot enemies drop. The worst part is that it's like the game expects you to grind for hours on end for pitiful money and experience. I found myself falling behind in levels extremely quickly, even after doing hunts and fighting every other enemy on the path. I wouldn't have a problem with the grinding, though, if I felt like I was actually getting somewhere with it. As for the characters, they were alright. I hated Fran, though.

To each their own, I guess.

OT: I'm one of the Persona 4 crowd. I can't really think of anything that I dislike about it. I guess some people might complain about the difficulty, but once you know what you're doing, it's really easy, apart from enemies spamming Hama and Mudo skills...

I just bought Roller Coaster Tycoon from gog.com and started playing it again after almost a decade. It is still a joy just to sit in the main menu and watch the roller coasters zip past.

Alpha Protocol.

People complained it was buggy and badly put together, I didn't see it as any of the sort.

It had great gameplay, an excellent story, great characters, massive replayability, plus it's the first RPG where you get to be a secret agent.

I don't get why critics consider it one of the worst games ever when I found it very enjoyable and quite functional. I don't think even Yahtzee raged on that game as much as X-Play, and that might be saying alot.
I second this. Alpha Protocol was a fantastic game! Going in I expected a mediocre mess and was instead surprised with a punch to the face full of awesomeness.

Probably part of the reason I remember it fondly is that I haven't played it in a few years. I do remember at first having to be Grindy McGrinderson to be able to afford kitting out my party. Eventually I decided to make my party always Balthier, Basch, and Ashe. That made combat easier (except for instant death attacks, those could really ruin my day). I know it's not the best combat system they've ever had, but with a few tweaks it could have been really really good (I loved everything being in real time, not just a transition screen to a battle with whatever enemies the game felt like throwing at you). I just appreciate that they were trying something different, especially since the next edition to the series has become my least favorite so far, even after having played FFX-2.

Probably the original Paper Mario. Yeah, it's Mario-the RPG, but it's fun, and it's a way to get people who don't like RPG's into them.

Just Cause 2.

Sure, there are no interesting characters and the story is cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs, but the fact that you can attach a car to a helicopter, take off, and destroy a water tower with the car/wrecking ball makes up for it in my opinion.

Then again, I'm extremely easy to entertain so maybe I'm horribly wrong.
Have you tried attaching a helicopter to a plane and then use the cruise control to surf your plane-helicopter combo directly into a building?
Or switching from your plane to your helicopter?
You should do that, no-one ever said anything bad about the game after they saw me play.
It's just pure awesome in game form.

Halo. The exepriences I've had with that series just define my FPS career so to speak. So much thought was put into it I guess and thats why I get all confused when people hate on it. Sure you can hate on the players but we're talking about the game here.

Persona 4. Now I have yet to find someone who has said the literal words "I hate Persona 4" so that's a good sign but I can tell that those people who dislike JRPGs are silently judging. I had no love for JRPGs either, I was pretty neutral on the whole thing. I wasn't gonna have a fit over FF VIII-5 The Revengance being released nor was I going to go on about FF7 being baist thing evar.

Basically the long and short of it is that Persona 4 transcends genre as far as i'm concerned. It's just that good.

I mean just listen to this:

TOO GOOD!

Maybe the Ace Attorney series qualifies... Depends on how boring you are I suppose.

"Nyyyyehhh real lawyers don't shout and point fingers! That's not the correct use of the word Objection! Why does Phoneix get bitched at for doing his job? Not finding anything in a Cross-Examination can't pin blame on the Defence personally! WHY IS THERE SO MUCH PHYSICAL ABUSE IN THE COURTROOM! THIS IS RUINING MY IMMURSION IN THIS SUPAH SRS GAEM!"
I once saw a video of persona. Some school teens were playing darts in a club.
Wow I hit it in the middle sit on my lap, badass levels over 9000 lol.

I hate Persona 4.
Is that third sentence even English? Sorry if you're making some sort of joke because the Internet can't translate across a few sarcastic-ish statements. So feel free to ignore the following if i've missed a joke.

Well, i'm glad you've achieved a super high level of intelligence and/or perception because if one video you "once saw" makes you so absolutely positive that you hate the entire 40-50 hour game then go you.

I can't remember darts being in the club scene but i'll let that one slide.

This is where i'm tempted to bring down the troll accusations... I shall refrain however, since this site is troll free 99% of the time.

[sub]God A 9001 reference, seriously my troll senses are going haywire[/sub]

Guild wars 2. Yea the game's not perfect. And yea it still uses a lot of the traditional formula that a lot of people have grown bored with. But to say you'd 'hate' the game? That's just not possible imo... It's too gorgeous, and does enough things differently for it to still feel new and fun.

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.

Just hearing the theme song is enough to make me unconsciously smile. I love practically everything about this game from the combat (yes, even the combat!) to the story. Once in a while I will be strolling around Vivec and think "everything in this game is so big and unique, how could anyone not enjoy playing this game?"

Also this. The game is very beautiful. There are many places I've been to that made me have to re-align my jaw because it dropped so hard, like when I first discovered Vigil's Keep.

Every halo game (aside from wars). I do not get the hate for them. Bungie puts great care into balance and fun and people dismiss it as generic, which is bullshit.

Call of Duty, any game in the series.

Yes, I am aware that they are pretty much the same game in different settings, but I don't care about that. I will stop loving Call of Duty when I stop loving first person shooters.
