Honestly, at this point, I want a Playstation trilogy HD release: Final Fantasy VII, VIII, and IX in a box set. Such great settings, such memorable characters, such unforgettable gameplay. Mmmmmm. . .

None, all the games with the "nostalgia factor" are still good as they are.
A+

They're already remaking my favourite games ever, the Oddworld games, so...

Part of me wants to say FFVII and FFIX, but replaying both made me think that this is a terrible idea because they'd probably bring in voice actors, cut everything but the main quest out, have everything take place in uninteractive cutscenes, and rewrite the characters personalities (especially in VII) to fit the totally wrong view people have of these characters.

The only way I could support an HD release of these games is if they either did it all in text or dubbed every single line of dialogue and didn't cut anything out (fixing it so the translations make more sense is fine) and if they redid it so all the music that plays would be orchestral versions of the original music. Truth is I would play it just for the music.

If they turned the games into FFXIII clones with none of the exploration, memorable side characters, pointlessly complicated side quests and optional bosses, I would be pissed though. I didn't master all that as a kid just for it to be cut out.

Final Fantasy 7 has nothing on six. Most were too young to appreciate the earlier FF titles. I tried going back and playing FF7 and could not get past the graphics or the storyline, but FF6 I can play over and over and it never gets old. Kefka would also kick Sephiroth's ass :p

...you will never see this game ever redone because SquareEnix cannot get anything right.

RIP Squaresoft
Actually, with the 2d-to-3d remakes they keep doing on the DS, Gamecube-quality versions of Final Fantasy V (which is ass) and Final Fantasy VI on the 3DS seem more or less iminent, and lord knows it's cheap. Everything is done besides graphics and voice acting.

Also, character development would like to have a word with Kefka.

Myst II and Myst III (Myst I already had a remake)
Change the game from looking at pictures to full 3D, and you have the potential for some of the greatest games ever.

In fact, there are many old games where the graphics and technological limitations made them worse that they would be if remade properly today.

And remake Daggerfall, this is a must.

Halo 2. The greatest multiplayer shooter ever.
unreal tournament would like to have a word with you.
Does it want to talk about how it isn't as good as Halo 2? I should explain to him that he shouldn't feel bad, no game is as good as Halo 2 was.

All of you are ninjas. I hope you are proud of this fact.

Guess I'll go with Parasite Eve 1&2 (with different controls on 2), Tales of Symphonia and the Abyss, the original Kingdom Hearts, SW: Republic Commando, and the Zelda games for the gameboy (both oracles and link's awakening. I'm probably in a minority that likes 2D zelda over the 3d counterparts).

- Clive Barker's Undying
- American McGee's Alice
- I'm personally surprised that System Shock 1 & 2 haven't been re-released yet in some kind of HD collection. I thought Bioshock would have brought interest back to the series.
- Xenogears
- Obscure 1 and 2. The series deserves more respect but is completely neglected :'(
- Skies of Arcadia
- Baten Kaitos
- Resident Evil 2
- Nights into Dreams
- Even though I can all ready picture this at some point in the future, the Kingdom Hearts series as an HD collection.
- Silent Hill
- I Have no Mouth and I Must Scream
- Harvester
- Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth (seriously, it had two sequels planned that were lost because the company went bankrupt)
- Galerians. On an HD console, the game could look beautiful and maybe be recognized for how good it is.
- Grim Fandango

I don't know how feasible they would be given their use of live action, but I still think the Myst series includes the deepest storytelling in the gaming medium, especially from a thematic standpoint. The puzzles are probably too hard for the series to ever to have widespread appeal though, so I doubt a reboot could even be considered. I'm glad to see that someone on the Escapist is at least aware of their existence though.

As for Daggerfall, there is work on updating it to be more mod-friendly and feature-complete, though from a graphical standpoint it is still far from modern. Once again, the ambitious nature of the game makes having super-HD graphics an impossibility. Still looks like an amazing update; I just hope that this project's creator can stick with it.

Your taste is similar to mine; therefore, it is great. Good job =P

KotOR most definitely
Spider-Man 2
There needs to be a Ratchet and Clank PS3 collection
And a Jak and Daxter one
Bomberman Hero, some people may not remember this one, but I freakin' loved it, one of my favorite N64 games.
And speaking of that, it doesn't even need to be HD, but damn it! Where the hell is the virtual console re-release of Donkey Kong 64?! DK Countries 1-3 were re-released.

Arcanum. That would an amazing HD game, only if the core gameplay was reworked to a more Fallout 3/Skyrim (what we've seen so far) style.

KOTOR: I'd prefer KOTOR3.
Hald Life 1: See ^
OT: Ultima. I never got a chance to play.
