Probably been mentioned but Skies of Arcadia. I to this day still try to convert people to this game. One of my top favorites of all time.

So there's a game coming out soon called Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes, on the Wii and PS3 which some of you may have heard of. It's kinda like Dynasty Warriors.
The reason I'm saying all this is the fact that when I was looking up about it I've gone 'hang on I know this game! It's Devil Kings with a new name!'
And I LOVE Devil Kings, its one of my favorite games on the PS2, so this got me kind of annoyed. And none of the reviews or comments or anything I've read about it has even mentioned in passing Devil Kings.

So I started this wondering whether there are any games that people forget about that you love? Or has something similar to what I have told happened before that annoyed you?
Super Mario Bros... No one has ever heard of this game.

For serious though, Bloody Roar. No one ever heard of it or played it, but I LOVED IT, it was by far my favorite fighting game, I mean who wouldn't want to play as a lion-man and dropkick a girl-bunny in the face and send her flying out of the ring?

Space Empires (5)

So much potential, but so many bugs...
At least with all the patches it became playable for more than 10 minute stretches. Awesome game though, I think about it often.

Freelancer is still pretty popular with the right crowd. There's a bunch of online servers for freelancer and a good amount of mods.

The Guardian Legend - NES
Soulbringer - PC

To whoever mentioned Majesty: The Kingdom Simulator. I also have it installed still and Majesty 2, even though the first is way better.

wizards and warriors for the NES and jet force gemini for N64

also if anyone knows the name of the game I'm about to describe that would be awesome,
it was a game for the genesis. you played a female character that used a boomerang that
you could upgrade to be up to three boomerangs the gameplay was pretty fast-paced and
at one point you fought a giant blob with a nucleus in the center that is all I remember but
the game was awesome

Klonoa

May be easy but is still the best use of 2.5D in a game I have seen so far and the music is still gets stuck in my head eleven years later

Man, I can't believe someone beat me to the punch with Walker and Chaos Engine (Amiga FTW BTW)
Other Amiga greats Shadow of the Beast, Leander, Exterminators, Atomic Boy and The Killing Game Show (and anything else by Psygnosis)
As for PC stuff there's Machines, Urban Assault, Hostile Waters, Lander (which took me over 3 years to complete) and warzone 2100 which I will always remember because of the 6 man 18hour straight epic match I was involved in, during which I only unlocked 60% of the updated tech tree.

Well, there's probably a good reason no one remembers this.
I really enjoyed that game to be honest. It was a lot of fun, sure there were bugs but it was still good.
OT: Not many people mention Ape Escape nowadays as well as: Megaman Legends, and an old game on the Dreamcast called Alien Front Team Based Combat.

True Crime: Streets of LA
I bet you will find a lot of people on here that remember that. Heck, I played it to death for months, though I liked Streets of New York better, though I didn't like that it seemed like every other word out of a pedestrians mouth was fuck. NY was glitchy but it had some of the most hilarious glitches I have seen in a game. LA just got weird with all the Chinese mythology and zombies and stuff, I felt like I was playing a serious game until that point.

I would be surprised if many people didn't know about the True Crime games, because come on Christopher Walken was a major voice actor in both games.

-------
I can't really think of many games that might not be remembered, with a place like the Escapist, there is bound to be some that remembers,
I thought the transition to ridiculous was AWESOME. One of the very few twists in a game I did not see coming even a teeny weeny bit. Never played NY though.

OT: thought of some more, seen as we're doing nostalgia-wanks now: Croc, Pandamonium, Simpsons Wrestling and Hit & Run, Hugo, Bugs Bunny Lost In Time, and some other stuff too. Ooo syphon filter!

Anyone remember Plok for the SNES? Kinda like rayman but he could throw his legs as well as his fists so obviously he's much more awesome. Not to mention some great boss battles and one of the hardest end segments to a game I've ever played.

Carrier Command. Of course, hardly anyone remembers it because most gamers aren't old enough to remember it. I spent a huge amount of my youth on that game though.

There was also Roadwar 2000 (and its sequel, Roadwar Europa), Miner2049er, Archon, Montezuma's Revenge, and a host of other games that have been reduced to little more than a few short paragraphs of text in Wikipedia.

I have a soft spot for a game I did a review for at 3D Action Planet: Requiem.

It's not a very good game, but it was one of the early games in the super-powered FPS genre, coming out a couple of years after Jedi Knight. And while the game was mostly crap, a few of the powers were tons of fun. You could slow down time, which highlighted that the game actually made guns projectile weapons instead of hit-scan weapons. You could possess bad guys then use them to take out other guards. And my personal favorite: you could turn someone into a pillar of salt.
