I think a 3D overhaul of Chrono Trigger would be amazing. Or a Game Called Breakdown. It was a game I picked up at Gamestop for $7. I thought the sci-fi story was sweet and the action was straight fp kinda like Riddick but it didnt change from the viewpoint at all. You could pull backflips and stuff while your fighting and it was kinda disorienting lol.

Morrowind would be supremely awesome with Oblivion's combat and physics.

San Andreas might be interesting if the next installment doesn't add much from GTAIV.

I'm sure there's more, but they aren't in my head at the moment.

There's never ANY reason to remake ANY games other than to make more money. And to top it off, you put a remake of a game that has already been remade on the list for a remake (Sims 2 was a remake of the sims and has been remade again as sims 3, and people just eat the whole mess up.)

I would counter by saying that in your eyes there's never any reason to make anything other than money. You want free? Play open source games and updates to older games.

Why are you capitalizing the first letter of every word? Oh well, my opinion on the matter is that System Shock 1 & 2 should be remade. I cannot find any legit places that sell them, and I don't want to take my chances with Ebay or Amazon.

Theme Hospital. Please? Better controls is all we need. Oh yeah, and tweak the levels so once you manage to construct a hospital that can't stop making money, you don't have to sit and twiddle your thumbs for a few in-game years before hitting the amount required to complete the level. And, uh, make the handymen smarter so you don't need one for every square foot of floor space. And so they don't walk around segments of the hospital that aren't built up yet and complain that there's no heating.

TIE Fighter. The DOS game. It was excellent, but suffered from the grave graphical limitations as well as dodgy collision detection and other problems of technology. I'd love to see a good, modern Star Wars flight sim for the PC.

Half Life in the Source Engine.

you mean HL with the HL2 engine? well you have been beaten at that, there is a mod for the PC for that

Doesn't count unless it actually gets released. I've had my heart broken by too many brilliant mods that were abandoned to count on any mod until it's released :p

OT: I would love to see the Spellforce trilogy remade with updated graphics and some decent voice actors. I'd also like to see Shogun: Total War remade with the Medieval 2: Total War engine.

I'd love to see refined versions of Fallout 3 and Oblivion. I rant about how bad they are more than i should; they're potentially awesome but Bethesda just need a hand with a few things.
You'll probably be interested in Fallout: New Vegas. From what I've heard, it's VERY much like Fallout 3, but with a lot of refining done (especially with the combat and the companions)

I would really like to see a remake of Star Wars Republic Commando. That was my first shooter, and I played it for ages. Had it on PC, and loved it to death. I'd like to see it remade in the Halo Reach engine, it seems like it would be a really good fit.

It's not really the old, good games that need to be remade. The thing is, if you do that, you're more likely to make a worse game than a better one.

It's the completely sucky ones that need to be remade. Even a really bad premise can be rethought.

I think remakes are fine in many cases as some games would work well with new technology and could probably find a following with the new, bigger, pool of gamers.

I'd probably vote "Master Of Magic" for the #1 title I'd like to see remade with current tech. I understand it's inspired a lot of "spirtual successors" but I don't believe there was ever a direct sequel or remake of it.

Other than that I'd like to see a remake of the "Dark Savant" trilogy from Wizardry "Bane Of The Cosmic Forge", "Crusaders Of The Dark Savant", and "Wizardry 8". Epic series, great turn based engine, create your own party from dozens of options. Almost impossible to get to run on current systems. :/

What's more I think that series suffered from the amount of time between chapters (which to be fair, happened for a reason). By the time Wizardry 8 came around, I think many had lost faith. Still, that's probably one of the more epic game series ever made.

I also think that the "Ultima" games are itching for a remake, or perhaps even an entire reboot, though a remake would be better. Given the state Ascension was released in, I was never able to complete it, and from what I was able to piece together it didn't lead to all that satisfying a conclusion. What's more the end of the series got a bit disjointed with the whole Serpent Isle, Pagan, Ascension path... I mean it made a certain degree of sense I guess, but could have been tied together better.

Final fantasy 7... i would invest in the remake of this game.

toe jam & earl would be some fun... but that may be better left as a classic

not sure why Sims 2 would be on the list... isn't Sims 3 practically the remake of it just with upgrades?
