I guess, Jet moto 3 and Busido Blade:

Oh yes, Busido blade.

Because No life bar and NO Time limit. Just you, your enemy and that one sword strike that will decide the battle.

Oh, and the character gets injured and you can see it., a bandage there, a blood stain here. It's truly remarkable that they could input that in a ps1 title. With the tech today, I wonder what they could do with it.

For the love of god, Jade Empire 2. Such a unique game and setting deserves to be expanded upon.
You are SOOOO right!

Also: Eternal Darkness. Surely enough time has passed that we would all be creeped out all over again!

Republic Commando: this game is one of my soft spots, great single player campaingn, one of the few games where the starting weapon is one most useful weapon in the game by virtue of being 3 weapons in one, and a squad that was fun to be around

Starwars Battlefront 2: Great game as well except the space battles left a lot to be desired. The campaingn was ok but the real heart of the game

Jade Empire: one of the few decidedly western style games that use eastern settings and concepts. A bit shallow for an RPG it was a blast to play the story was enjoyable and the characters entertaining. Using martial arts that you keep and upgrade as your primary form of fighting battles instead of weapons that you swap out every couple of hours was a really cool change.

Freespace 2: proably the best space combat game that I have played ever.

CURSE YOU GEORGE LUCAS!
Really? I loved that game. Didn't play 1 though...

Jedi Academy 2 needs to exist. With a dual storyline where you can start off light or darkside.

Champions: Return to Arms. Never have I played a 3rd pesron RPG more balanced. The combat, exploration, items and levels were all prefected to a shine, it was an awesome game that I played through dozens of times.

I could just list personal favourites like conkers bad fur day, but if it did get a sequel i'd be worried that it might suck and ruin my nostaglia. They also feel more special when they stand alone, instead of just getting milked.

actually you have a good point, hopefully when bioware is done with mass effect they'll give jade empire a sequel too. Historic China is just too fucking cool.

Clive Barkers' Undying.

Fantastic gun and magic system. Diverse levels. Only more scary then the actual game were the terrible Irish accents in it!

"Hey guys, did you see what I did there? It's ironic because those games do have sequels and I'm implying that the sequels don't exist because I didn't like them."

OT: Agree about Republic Commando. That game was an absolute gem and got way too little credit. Battlefront 3 would also be absolutely wonderful.

But truly the game most needful of a sequel is Psychonauts.
