Games that should have been the next Halo, Super Mario, or Ocarina of Time, but weren't.

Well, it is remembered and has fans, but TimeSplitters does deserve to be the next Halo.

Spore, ah Spore, I've recently gotten back into it. Good game, if only it hadn't made everyone think it was the messiah of gaming at E3 before it came out, then it would've gotten much better publicity. And by the way, the FULLY EXPLORABLE GALAXY thing is all smoke at mirrors. And Sims 3 had better customization, if only just for human creating.

In my opinion, either what Souplex said (Henry Hatsworth's Puzzling Adventure) or the entire makeup of everything Insomniac has ever made, but Ratchet and Clank more-so than anything. You've got platforming, puzzles, huge goddamned firepower, a tiny robot sidekick who is also a helicopter or jet-powered backpack, a likable main protagonist, well-written dialogue, an array of interesting characters, and some dog-fighting mixed in here or there.

And the name of the newest game was at one point going to be "Clock Blockers" rather than "A Crack in Time."

Just. Awesome.

I vote for Team Fortress 2. I don't care how much fun your having with Counterstrike, It's better Dammit.
Team Fortress 2 was great! I loved that game but I was stuck playing it exclusively on consoles so I missed out on all the great updates and mods and whatnot. I think that's one of the bigger reasons it isn't as widely loved.

I wanted very much to like the new Alien vs Predator. I couldn't.

I have to say Timeshift, an FPS from 2007. That game worked slowing, stopping, and reversing time so god dang well into campaign and multiplayer, but I'm apparently the only person who still plays it :(

I'd name this great game, but I can't remember it well. I got it 8 years ago.

My dad pawned it without my knowledge.

You basically ran around cities fighting in mechs, shooting eachother with anime character icons and the music was great. I had so much fun with that game. Wish I could remember the name. It was for the old Xbox.
Was it robotech?
Nope. It was a more upbeat game and the fighting was in tournament's and stuff, never for anything serious like defending the world.
G gundam maybe?

Nope. When I said anime characters, I just ment that the characters were hand drawn/anime styled characters. The game wasn't based on any actual anime or manga.

Threads of Fate was a solid RPG with memorable characters that I think at least deserves a sequel.

I also remember ActRaiser, a game where you literally play God, building cities in a simplified version of Sim City where you control an angel to fight off giant bats and fighting as god's avatar in Castlevania style 2-d side scrolling. Then went down the crapper when the sequel decided to ditch the city building part and focused entirely on a generic hack and slash.

The Mark of Kri, it was a brawler where you were a big samoan son of a *****. There was a sequal but it wasn't nearly as good. There was stealth, ranged weapons, a combo based stylized combat. Only issue no bosses. It was an old PS2 title. It could have been what Uncharted is now.
Oh yeah, that game rocked as well.

^ Threads of Fate was one of the earlier RPGs I played when I was younger. I became quite emotionally attached to it.

ActRaiser was a unique game for its time too. I liked the platforming and graphical style of the second game more.

@ Tribes: This game made me who I am today. Was the first multiplayer FPS I ever remember playing. No other FPS has ever come close to what Tribes was for me. I also liked Starsiege itself. Spent a few months playing it.

For me.. aside from mentioning a few games others have mentioned, I'd say... the Ys series. It's kind of obscure because, well, it never came to America until recently, but it's been around since the late 1980's.

For some more.. Vectorman, maybe Ecco the Dolphin. I have good memories with both of them, but I don't think Ecco would've been big hit worthy since it's just not what folks liked. Vectorman on the other hand.. That did get some attention, but it just disappeared for some reason.

LOL! No it doesn't, it has like, 20 base weapons; and then they have randomly generated stats.

Diablo I & II have more man. Seriously.

M2TW needs to be talked about more. But then CA screwed up horribly with ETW and it became popular.

I learned something then. If a strategy game is extremely popular, it is either extremely horrible or made by Blizzard.

Vanquish is grossly underrated. Probably because it was released the same day as the tripe known as Fallout: New Vegas.
I played the demo, it reminded me of Gears of War, but with more color and better power armor.

Is there something that happens after the spider robot turtle boss that makes the game SUPER fun rather than just fun? Cause I couldn't get past when it stood up. I think I blew off one of it's arms once, but then I died again. I don't like it when boss battles have stages and there aren't checkpoints, seems like that would be the final boss and not the first one.

No, it has 6 or 7 weapon types, each is made of 6 different parts, and each part is selected of 5 different models of that part.

F-zero Gx.

I want my sequel now god damnit!

Yes, I know it was already a series, and it had handheld games since.

I WANT F-MOTHERFUCKING-ZERO GX.
With all the graphical bewitchery and online stuff that comes with a new game. In fact, just the same game with an online component would keep me happy.

Non-game example: Baccano.
It's the pulp fiction of anime.

Seaman? Was Seaman popular? I don't really remember.
I know my Dad was psyched for it, but he likes anything Sega.

Sorry, but no. It's been a long time since I played it. But thanks for trying. :3

Skies of Arcadia and Deus Ex. Not a lot of people really care about them in this day and age.
Never heard of the former, but this picture is here for a reason:

Lol seriously this game is rather underrated considering how good it was. It had its bad points but it was still awesome.
