Every Tomb Raider game should feature an apology for not being a Legacy of Kain game.

If the game is so bad you'd want an apology, but you still finished it anyhow, then it shouldn't apologise.

It should be laughing in your face.

Kingdom Hearts 2: "Sorry guys, we thought we were making a movie until halfway in. Hope the quick-time events made you feel like you actually had a say in how the battles were fought (even though you didn't)."
What QTE? Oh, you mean the mashing triangle regardless of timing without any penalty?
The only time pressing triangle not at the second it appears is only in ONE battle and even then the first option doesn't damage you, the other options just damage the enemy.
Did you not play the final boss sequence? That was QTE-palooza. Pressing triangle to dodge and kick flying buildings, pressing triangle to dodge a big black cloud chasing after you, mashing triangle as fast as you can to deflect a wall of lasers being fired at you...come on. That's just ridiculous. The final boss sequence is supposed to be a test of the player's skills and how they employ them. Not a test to see how fast they can mash triangle for extended periods of time without cramping up. In KH1, the final bosses required you to be careful about how you used your spells and items (given you didn't spend hours grinding 20 levels above what you needed to be). In the KH2 final bosses, you spend most of your time time pressing triangle to trigger some pre-rendered mini-cinematic of Sora jumping over stuff or dramatically destroying whatever's in his way.

Everything about KH2 was just too soft, like they were scared if they made the player work too hard they'd give up and miss some of the pretty cutscenes. In KH1, I couldn't beat Sephiroth even with level 99 and the ultima weapon. In KH2, I beat him at like level 62. Easily.

So, I just finished FF13 last night, mainly because I just wanted to say I beat it. And I thought the credits would have been a good spot for Square Enix to apologize for having the game be so damn linear.

So my question is: Is there a game out there that you thought needed an apology from the developers?
in my opinion ( please no hate)
I would say MW2( i know I know)
I would say this because they need to start monitering trolls who will call people fags, gay, the n word, and other slurs

Mortal Kombat.
This probably applies to earlier games but I never played 'em, so I'm just referring to MK9.

"Sorry about Shao Kahn. It was an overpowered mess of a joke that we were meant to take out, but forgot."
At least I can only assume that mess of a boss was a joke. There's no way he could be that strong on purpose.

[sub]I'm aware he's kinda easy once you know how to beat him, but it doesn't make the 70 bazillion losses necessary to find out how to beat him any less frustrating.[/sub]
Actually, you'd be wrong. Good afternoon, I am an MK veteran. Shao Kahn is always that bullshitty, and so are any other bosses and sub-bosses ya care to mention in these games. You're just the new generation of people being irritated as fuck with it. Lemme give you the rundown from 1 to 3.

Goro - There is no one who doesn't hate him for his grab-and-pound attacks.

Kintaro - Eveybody hates his teleport slam and fireball spam.

Motaro - Not only is he loud and annoying, but we hate EVERYTHING he does.

Shao Kahn MK2 - Too fast for human reflexes, irritating, and (like other MK boss bastards) ungrabbable.

Shao Kahn MK3 - Nevermind that the game is just bad, they took everything about Shao Kahn we hate and then gave him a fucking hammer.

From then on, it's been tradition to make MK bosses as bullshitty as possible, because we already jumped the fucking shark in MK3 when proper fighting was replaced with running in and throwing in a load of rehearsed combos. Other games have this, but Mortal Kombat exploited it the most. And even at the end of it, you don't beat Shao Kahn or whoever else with combos. Of course not, because they've thought of that already when they programmed the bosses.

Boss characters always take off too much health in those games. Do you know what Kintaro and Shao Kahn do in MK2? Four hits to bring you to the danger zone and then one to finish you off. Five unforgiving hits, no matter how grazing. If you're in the air and you're not immediately kicking Kintaro when he goes on a fireball parade, you get to bounce off of those to death. That's just an example.

Five hits, and you've got to do more to handle THEM. There's only one thing TO DO: Never stop moving. I can beat Shao Kahn, probably the same now as I did then. Never stop fucking moving. You jump around like a flipping jack rabbit, kicking with all your might and avoiding the movies. If you're Subzero or Scorpion, you take one of those moments where they're taunting - and it WILL happen - and do what they do best. There's alot to be said in having a couple-second reprive in battle because of a spear-grab or a freezing, plus the free hit.

It's too late for anyone to apologize for Mortal Kombat. They've been shameless about it since I was a kid.
You forgot a few details. Kintaro can grab your ass out of the air.

There IS no sweeping a boss character. And they WILL grab you and own your ass all day long. It's a reason there are tiers in MK2 and MK3. In 2, you can use Subzero to *try* to freeze Kintaro. Motaro? Kabal all day. Period! Because forget the endings. After you've been beaten like a ragheaded step child being prostituted by her stepdad with a strong backhand, you just want to win ONE FRIGGIN time against them.

If any of the Boon ever learns about cheap boss fights from SNK or Capcom, the world will end. Shao Kahn would destroy us in the tournament because no one would beat him.
Don't forget these games were originally quarter sucking arcade machines designed specifically to rape your money stash and drain your soul.

that one game you really like, its horrible, the dev team should have apologized for it and killed themselves afterwards, it was truly horrible and you should feel bad for buying and liking it, in fact, the game was so bad I think it might have had something to do with the JFK assassination
How dare you!? That one game I really like is the best thing that's ever happened! That one game you really like, however, is garbage. No...it's worse than garbage since some of that can at least be recycled. It's...it's so bad, there's not an appropriate comparison. Jerk.

Moonbase Alpha, because the sound obstinately refuses to work on my computer, and playing Moonbase Alpha without text-to-speech is like playing Portal without GLaDOS - it's not nearly as fun.

I even went and got this [http://www.youtuberepeat.com/watch/?v=yBISfv-6hfo] ready to play it to, but noooooooooo, it just wouldn't play ball.

In space, it seems, no-one can hear you AEIOU.

I'm going to say this:

CALL OF DUTY IS FUCKING LINEAR BUT WHY DOES EVERYONE ASSOCIATE LINEARITY WITH 13?!

Nerd Rage sequence complete.

OT: Duke Nukem Forever, The last 3 CoD's, the next 3 Halo games, Halo Wars, any game with Always-On DRM, and......

Arx Fatalis with it's fickle magic system.

Why the next 3 Halo Games? THEY'RE BEING HANDLED BY THE SAME BASTARDS THAT GAVE US HALO WARS!

In fairness, Spiderman 2 was really good, and there were the odd few like Batman on the NES.

To join in with everyone else, Sonic 2006. It came so very close to killing my childhood forever.

However, I can't not mention Zelda: Spirit Tracks. Aside forcing you into a train that travels so very slowly you take up playing other games to compensate for the lack of excitement, the dungeons were lackluster and the last boss was a joke. First (proper) Zelda title that actually disappointed me.
