Geez, a lot of Oblivion hate on this thread. I loved that game personally.

OT: I really can't say myself. Just like really good games, we can all learn a thing or two from games that are terrible. So I think they all have a right to exist.

The "Call of Duty"s past five, the grinding of enemies and brokenness of the multiplayer curve started to accelerate then. Pokemon games are getting absurd now. Mortal Kombat (the new one) for various reasons.

I finished the bloody game, don't worry. All I'm saying is, they could've add more then sights, weapon mods or selecting what would your companions do in combat.
Wow you ignore massive amounts of my post and then complain that the reason it should be a DLC is because it added a few gameplay mechanics? Did you ever think for a second that many people played New Vegas for its story, characters and political aspects?

Your comment makes no sense, they did add more than "sights, weapon mods or selecting what would your companions do in combat."

They added hundreds of new characters, new locations, a completely new setting never before visited, new major factions, it had its own DLC which added very unique character and location, completely new weapons and so many things that calling New Vegas a "DLC" is just misguided.

I wasn't going to bother an argument. What point I was trying to make was that, in a sum, the rushed game that is Melee is better comparable to an unrushed Brawl, which leaves it as a backwards delusion.
A backwards delusion? I don't get what you mean by that. All I know is saying that Melee was rushed and Brawl wasn't, in defense of Brawl is a really weak point.
What point I am trying to make is that, usually longer developed games tend to far better than shorter developed ones, for obvious reasons. But we all know that's not always usually the case. (see Duke Nukem Forever)

Delusion was probably not the best word to describe that situation. Apologies.

And I'm not defending Brawl. I think Melee is much better than Brawl as well. I was just making a statement about the development time of each game, its changes, its outcome and reaction by players.
Sorry, being stupid assuming over the internet again. Just don't quote me saying 'Brawl is a good game' and you'll see I'm pretty stable. :p

I gotta say that I knew they took their time with Brawl since I was waiting about 3 years for it to come to Australia. It was the longest wait and biggest disappointment in my life so far. Even though I hate Brawl, there are some things in it I reckon are great like the Smash Ball idea (even though the moves need more work), the stage editor, how you collect the trophies, the sticker stats, the big ass boss fights (which also could improved a whole heap more), multiplayer events and the music. So I can understand why there are many fans of Brawl but I still think it should be erased and start over or at least redone.

You asked me "what does that tell you?" about the outcome of both Melee and Brawl in different circumstances, and I think it's because of the new system they got around the Wii and how they tapped into the casual market. I remember one of the lead designers saying that he thought Melee was too difficult, and from somewhere else I heard they didn't want to inspire big tournaments with any betting in it so that could explain the nerfing and other crap.

I like to think i'm know almost everything about Halo and it's universe, and it may be petty, but I wish the call of duty series didn't exist...and infinity ward needs to reimburse me for the 3 controllers i broke playing on veteran.

Sonic the Hedgehog (2007) was by far one of the worst sonic games ever. Terrible physics, walking on walls (you are supposed to be going fast on them but you could just stand there,) and invisible walls galore. And the loading times... don't get me started.

Brink was also a huge dissapointment. I was so hyped up about it and when it came out, i beat it in 4-5 hours. Dissapointed, i decided to check out the multiplayer, which is the same damn levels with no new content! WTF?!?!

Out of the two, I wish Sonic the Hedgehog (2007) never existed.

People wrongfully blame F.E.A.R. and Dead Space for killing the survival horror genre. They didn't because they were NEVER SURVIVAL HORROR GAMES. Homecoming was the final nail in the coffin. Action didn't kill horror, bad horror killed horror.
Why hello there, Mr. Mason. :D And I absolutely agree, Homecoming was awful - it was nowhere near the brilliance of its predecessors, and it almost completely killed off the series. Unless Downpour turns things around, Silent Hill is doomed.

AND NOW THEY'RE RE-DOING THE VOICE ACTING IN 2 AND 3!
I KNOW! Why would they do that? Do they want to deliberately get their fans on the wrong side?

It's killing me. I really liked Mary's voice-acting, for example.

Oblivion, that unimmersive, bland, bug ridden piece of sh... well, waste of money that is.
Only way to make it even remotely enjoyable is by heavy modding (good luck with that, console players).
I respect your opinion but you are a fucking moron
Really? Think hard now, you are here insulting people for not liking games that you like. So which one of us is really a moron. Oblivion nor Bethesda itself doesn't need fanbois like you to defend themselves.

None, there isn't a single game out there that shouldn't exist. Every game advances the medium in some way or another, even if it's just something to point at and say "See that? Don't do that." Not liking a game doesn't mean it shouldn't exist and all a game has to do is entertain ONE person and its purpose is fulfilled.

Seriously, when did the Escapist become a breeding ground for such "intellectual" snobbery?

Duke Nukem Forever and Lost Via Domus - Just appallingly bad games
And Fable 3 - They streamlined it so much and cut out pretty much everything that made 2 good

It's all good.

Possibly the best thing I like about Brawl is the music soundtrack. It's terrific. Some of the other features though could have had more work.

I believe Sakurai said once awhile ago that he really does not like competitiveness (I don't know if in general or in games) and he saw how much Melee had grown to be a competition tournament game (MLG, etc). I guess with this, the opinion of other producers, combined with the Wii's central focus on casuals, kinda of led to an inevitable big change in the game compared to other Smash games before. But we probably never noticed because of just the sheer excitement of another Smash game coming out haha.

Ah well. Maybe things will be better for the 4th one coming up.

The point of the thread, as I said in the OP, is to state what game you personally wish didn't exist, be it for ruining a favourite franchise or introducing something that is regarded as actually 'awful.' This isn't an intellectual debate about why or why not games should have been created. A free right to rant, as it were.

So, feel free to tell us your particular hates.
