Anything that Uwe Boll expressed interest in making. Why does that guy hate video games so much that he has to butcher them on his straight to DVD releases?
Uwe Boll works a little known German Tax route that allows him to recover all costs from his films and get paid, NO MATTER how bad they are. (And they all stink worse than Gorgonzola)

He's also a professional boxer...
I though he was once an amature boxer?

Super Mario Brothers was awsome (shut up, it was)
I agree. It was ridiculous but it still was great. It was like adding steampunk to Mario and Luigi.

Well, a shaved Luigi is absurd.

Anyway, Halo should never ever fever be a movie, I was about to say FF7 but then I remembered it has been done twice. Balls.

EDIT: Also I think a Metal Gear Solid would do great, the whole story seems like a movie itself.

I have given the idea of a Half-Life movie some thought, and my conclusion is that it could work, PROVIDED:

1. Valve does not let a Hollywood studio make it. They do it themselves. At MOST, they bring in a Hollywood director, but the producer and writers must be Valve employees.
2. They do it as CGI, using the Source engine and Half-Life character models. Effectively, the Half-Life movie should be machinima.
3. They bring back the voice actors from the game.
4. They should not include Gordon Freeman. My suggestion is some sort of prequel, chronicling the events between Half-Life and Half-Life 2.

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children was a decent film. Basically, it was a pure action film. The plot only served to give a reason for the gigantic fight scene that consumed the second half of the film. Still, not a disaster. Also note that Advent Children was made by Square-Enix.

I think that Halo could make a decent movie, particularly with Peter Jackson involved.

A game that should not be a movie? Any game with a nonlinear plot. If you are translating a specific game (and not doing one set in a game's universe, like AC), then a veteran gamer should be able to predict the entire film's plotline with 100% accuracy.

Also, any game WITHOUT a well-recieved storyline should not be made into a movie.

Hehe some days ago i was thinking of an earthbound movie but it would be ridiculous to hell. Maybe an anime directed by itoi but that would be far enough. AND without 4kids raping the content.

Apparently Star Wars will be a series TV show in 2009. Please no, Lucas...
I think KOTOR would be a great TV series, a different mission or planet each episode, watch all the characters develop, etc
Also, Mass Effect was a great game but would make a shitty movie. I'd also rather they remake Final Fantasy VII instead of making movies around it.

Rainbow Six would be great if it was focused on realism, and preferably based on Tom Clancy's book, which i think is his best.

I was about to say "don't make mario" but then i remembered, they DID.

It was. . .

A Zelda movie would probably be bad, but I'd be stoked if one came out that was done well. I dunno, it's so hard for filmmakers to make movies based on games that please the games fanbase, but I think every game has the potential to make a good movie if it's done properly.
I seconed that, and beside, IGN did a really good tralier for a Zelda movie very well for a low budget tralier. Sonic would be an awful movie, just imagine it, him running through some kind of New York City. Also, a Metel Gear Solid would be bad, as they probubly won't do it well (I would be hard to get as good as the game itself). Rainbow Six Veages would probubly go they way of the DOOM movie (They know what BFG means). There is probubly more but I want to stop.

I really enjoyed the IGN trailer for the Zelda movie. Sure it got the story all wrong, but that's what game movies do.
I hope IGN actually comes out with something to follow that up in a year. It's obviously something they're doing on their own. It's most likely an april fool's joke entirely, but if IGN released a 30-40 minute short film, it's be great fun. I was laughing my ass off when the trailer started, but it looked better than Eragon.

I think after Postal's fight scene, it would only be polite to call him professional. :)
It's fair to say after slagging him off before I'm going into training right now. Those critics that stepped into the ring with him got worked. ;-)

FF VII: Advent Children = win.

Though on the flipside of that FF: Spirits Within = worst movie I have ever seen.

...EVER.
Advent Children is pure win, but it's not the worst film ever... that award goes to Dungeons & Dragons. Without a shadow of a doubt the biggest pile of skunk shite I've ever seen in my life.

I think there might be something to the notion that Western studios should stay the hell away from video game movies. Maybe the Japanese can pull it off; apparently a number of their dating "sims" have gotten that treatment, with varying levels of success.

On the other hand... I'd forgotten about the Tomb Raider movies. Lord knows they weren't good, but I don't regret watching them. Maybe I'm alone in that.

Halo should not be a movie. It's a game about shooting things, which doesn't make for a good movie.
Couldn't agree more but that's a moot point as it's been canned. Still, I'd love to see a Half-Life film done, but only if the story would be handled tastefully and the script co-written by Marc Laidlaw as he created the story and writes for Valve. I also have hopes for the Prince of Persia film. I loved the first games story. It felt so much like a bed time story ripped right out of Arabian Nights. It's being done by Jerry Bruckheimer's team. The one that did the Pirates trilogy. That said, I'm not holding on to too much hope.
