Fallout: New Vegas died a slow death for me just outside of Primm. Seriously, I just stopped that soon into it and realised "wow, this game holds no redeeming value for me."
I'm the other way around, Fallout 3 sent me to sleep just after I met Moria Brown, but I found New Vegas's pace fast enough to keep me interested.
Opposite here. I could never get in New Vegas, although I loved Fallout 3 all the way through my 200 hours of playing it. PC mods, yay!
I prefer New Vegas to Fallout 3, simply because its easier to find side quests, and I was having fun with New Vegas until this afternoon when none of my saves would load. nothing wrong with the gameplay when it works though
OK seriously, STOP READING MY MIND!

Also Red Faction: Guerrilla when you leave the opening area and you realise there is yet another sandbox world, my spirit dies and everything from then on is a slog. Without a strong story I just can't stand sandbox games (Minecraft is of course the exception).

FFVIII. I got to the beginning of the third disc and realized that I just didn't care about the characters or the plot nearly enough to justify pushing my way through the slow, boring battles.

I swear to God if you didn't like it because you couldn't hike around like a lost New Yorker in Yellowstone Park like so many other people who got into Fallout by playing Fallout 3 first, I will attempt to hate you to death.
I'll second that one ^

Anyway, a game that lost it's fun factor? that has got to be...Bit Trip Beat, Holy balls, Bought and played it to get the potatoes in the potatoe hunt, I tought it was fun the first 2 minutes, after that I wanted to tear my head off in annoyance of the blip blop sounds and the levels taking 15-20 minutes with no kind of save system.

Dragon Age 2. Halfway through my third playthrough, I just stopped and never wanted to look at the damn game again.

That was what happened with Mass Effect 2 for me to a lesser extent. Unlike with Dragon Age 2, I still really like ME2, just don't want to play it anymore.

Pokemon Black. I've always loved the games, the remake of Silver and Gold were amazing, but this one was different. I think I've just grow out of having to grind those little bastards. I got to the Elite Four and just quit. Don't get me wrong if they ever remake Ruby and Sapphire I may pick those up, but otherwise, I'm done with Pokemon.

Also Assassin's Creed. I only got about 1 hour into it and just wanted to kill my self. Not sure why but I despise that game.

And I guess Fallout: New Vegas to a extent. I really wanted that game to be good, and for awhile it was. Then I lost the Platinum Chip and that rendered the may story line un-playable. I'm still wondering why they hell you could lose that? I'll make a new toon some day.

Assassin's Creed 1 got dull the moment I realised that every assassination basically went the same way. I loved the idea and marveled at the views in that game, but around the second or third assassination it all went "bleh."

Borderlands also really lost it's shine when I had to go to the Rust Commons. Oh look, more raiders, oh look, more derelict, brown scrapheap buildings. Blech. Didn't help I had to play alone. Stupid Gamespy...

Although it was a bit later in the game for me, I did have the same feeling I'm afraid. The game is simply such a broken mess, I really had to force myself to finish it yesterday. And during my entire playthrough I was constantly harrassed by intens framedrops and lag, crashes, broken quests (no Ambassador, I did not get your message), texture glitches, you name it.

And Yellowstone Park is actually quite beautiful. New Vegas is an ugly brown dustbowl.

LA Noire. Once I started homicide, it just started to feel like work, rather than a game... And it really didn't need a sandbox map the size it has.
Seriously, yay for letting your partner drive. I just finished Homicide, and I started feeling the same. Then I made my partner do the worst part of the job and it became a lot more fun. It helps that the cases in Homicide are very satisfying to resolve.

I'm glad I never really had to mine for stuff. I just picked planets in between missions every now and then and could install every upgrade I needed without mineral farming. Yeah if I'd had to do that I would've liked the game a lot less more.

Also, playing Vanguard helped. Trollin' with the shotgun.

World of Warcraft - Right when I figured out that I would spend hours, upon hours grinding the same fucking instances over and over again to get a single piece of gear, just so I can move on to raiding. Fucking stupid waste of money and life here, folks!
Heej now, don't dismiss the leveling content. Really, you won't see me touching the instance grinding with a 10-foot pole, but at least until that point there's hours of exploring, funny quests, pretty areas and beautiful music. That is, with Cata, leveling was kinda shit during Vanilla times.

I've got another to add to my previous post on Deus Ex: Invisible War.

The Command & Conquer series. All of them that came after Tiberian Sun, though I'm especially looking at Generals. I LOVED the C&C games when they first came out. Played the hell out of 'em. So yeah, it hurt like hell as I got further along in the series and they started feeling less and less like C&C games, until I got to Generals and it became 100% clear that the name was just being used as a cash-grab on my nostalgia. So yeah... that series really stopped being fun as Westwood Studios started losing control and EA started mucking things up.

Prey. I mean... it was prey. You couldn't die, at all. It felt like the game was holding my hand the whole way through.

Dead Rising. There is only so long I can bash zombies while staring at a clock timer before I just set the controller down.

On the other hand, a repetitive game Steel Battalion never got old for me, and I have no explanable reason why.

Most JRPG's at around the half way marker.

MOST, anyway.

And thats just from personal experience.

Some, like crono trigger, never let up.

Just Cause 2. I just got bored playing through it, so I gave the game to my little brother who had a blast with it. So I guess that is good.

For the most part I get bored of every game I play on the first playthrough. It's very rare I actually make it all the way through the first time round. Usually I have to come back to a game after playing something else before I finish it, and the only thing that makes it more fun is trying to figure out the controls again at a point when all the tutorials have stopped. Typically I have a backlog of ten or so games at a time.

Every MMORPG I have ever played.

Dragon age: origins (don?t kill me) somewhere around the deep roads.

Oblivion: It was when I realised that if I was just throwing on invisibility and sprinting thru the gates to close them as quickly as possible that there something was seriously wrong with this. I have allot of hours clocked on it but when I think about it I wasn?t having much fun for most of it baring a few moments of awesome.

Assassin's Creed 1 was fun until you realise that that you?re just going to be doing the same thing over and over again. I hear the 2nd is better so I might pick it up at some point when its bargain bin.

POP (new) for the same reasons as above and many many other reason I can?t be bother listing.

There are others of course but thats all I can think of right now.

Crysis 2 after about 20 minutes. Can't believe I bought that game, I am way too impulsive... Normally I can tolerate bad gameplay too, got more than half done with farcry 2 twice, but it was too unbearable, because it was just like other games, but way worse. At least farcry 2 had the environment, and some other things going for it. I liked the diamond collecting in it

Dragon Age 2 stopped being fun around the middle of Act 2. And just died at the beginning of Act 3.
Really? That was where it picked up for me, because you got all your abilities and reached the peak of your strength. Plus the Qunari were the most interesting characters in the game.

OT: Brink. And I just got it yesterday. Once I realized that playing online and with bots is virtually indistinguishable except for the enemies being more accurate, it just lost its charm.

That game would have seriously benefited from a campaign separate from multiplayer. That way you could explore the setting a little better. Also, games that have respawning in the campaign lose several points of fun in my opinion.
