Left 4 Dead online, when you haven't seen an enemy special infected in awhile and a good spot to hit you all at once is coming up...

Max Payne and Deus Ex

Why? Because I HATE enemies sneaking up behind me, constantly get killed when so close to end of level/chapter, and because I hate getting chased, being backed into a corner and killed >.>

Psycho Mantis From Mgs1 on a ps1, because he cheats(black screen), mindreading. It's difficult enough as it is (poor controls, camera etc.).

FIFA 10 online when my defenders run into each other and I lose a goal. Gears of War 1 and 2, when I insta-die from some shite, the Call of Duty series drives me fucking mental. I don't know what it is but you need to be in a great mood to play that game, it's like the unintentional antithesis of entertainment and fun

Whenever I play Call of Duty or Halo online, I tend to get pretty sweary. It's not playing against superior opponents that bothers me, it's playing with a crap-ass team whose cumulative score barely passes my individual score, because when they don't pull their weight, I get flanked all the goddamn time and can't play effectively. Seriously, last night, Black Ops: I had a ten kill streak in the first four minutes of a map I'd never played before, and it all came crashing down when attack dogs came and mauled me from out of nowhere, courtesy of my teammates who were somewhere in the neighborhood of 0-14.

I don't even plug in my mic anymore because I'm afraid of verbally assaulting someone.
Hey that happens to me most of the time i'm shifting my weight for the team and yet half of my teamates proceed to nube toobing and camping resulting in them getting killed so these days i only seem to play domination.

Stealth missions that auto-fail if one guard spots you. I abandoned Return to Castle Wolfenstein for about 3 years because of one of them.
Was it the secret base mission, where you get that massive sniper rifle?
I hated that part as well...the rest is friggin brilliant, though!
That's the one, yeah.

I went back to it earlier this year after being reminded of it by a thread on a similar topic, and finally beat it, after several attempts and studying walkthroughs on Youtube. That level aside though it is a good game.
Was that the base with the sirens that go off when you are spotted?

Gawd, the sound of that thing whirring up made my skin crawl...
Yes, that one.

I have such fond memories of this game. About 3 levels in, there is the first part where you enter a crypt. Remember entering that? There was this hole in the ground where you could see nazi's being killed by ... god knows what.

A few hallways after that you have to jump a gap with spikes below, to pull a lever which lowers the spikes and allows you to jump down. Before I dared to jump, I emptied all my ammo and grenades down there and hopefully hear something die. I only heard footsteps and continuous grunting and moaning, even when I ran out of ammo. I shat myself and quit. Only played it again years later when I "rediscovered" the game.
Agreed, it is one of the best single player FPS games in my opinion, even if a little dated by todays standards.

Will never forget the first time I walked by a coffin and it started thumping :)

Or that first super soldier, I have not been that scared since the first time I faced a Baron of Hell in Doom :)

Back on topic, that stealth level is way up there in most stressful moments. I must have reloaded that about 100 times before I ever got through it.

I'd say the only games that really stress me out are ones with Draconian time limits (fairly lengthy ones don't bother me), and to some extent MMOs when I start raiding and having to worry about keeping up with other people gearwise/timewise/etc...

I just got Fifa 11 today and that stresses me out BIGTIME! It is so annoying when you are doing better then the opposition score!

Still a good game, and sport though!

Not necessarily the game itself, but people who think that camping in the alley in Kino Der Toten from Black Ops is a good idea really annoys me. I usually just quit the game because I know they're all gonna die before wave 10 anyway.

Minecraft.

Tried it.

Just couldn't do it.

I liked the idea, but hated the execution and how powerful the enemies were. :(

I feel like such a newb... ;(

What about losing your legs at the beginning of a mission in Deus Ex?

First time that happened to me (on the second mission) I went through the whole thing crawling.
