Alpha Protocol

Story-wise it's fantastic but as an entertaining game it just sort of falls apart in places thanks to the mediocre combat mechanics, utterly imbalanced skill trees, and stupid irritating boss fights. Shame because otherwise all the parts are there for a genuinely stunning rpg experience. Dialogue was sharply written, conversations believable, the characters interesting and the story intriguing. Even the basic 'idea' of the gameplay was good, it's just in the execution it all sort of fell apart.

Still a decent game and definitely worth playing if you're an rpg fan. But it could have been so very much more. Pity!
The way to beat alpha protocol is to simply invest all skill points in martial arts. Seriously, because fists never run out of ammo..... and fists are far more lethal than bullets in that game.

Im just going to break cover and say it. LOST PLANET 2!

AI was retarded and never seemed to shoot the enemy, story was pathetic, no facial animations at all however

all my complants were forgot when you got all your mates on it and were riding a missive train/cannon trying to fend off a 300 foot long sandworm.

Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines
The game was fantastic, the story was compelling the mechanics were interesting but it had so many bugs that it could be very frustrating it could also have used more content, especially to make the various Vamp bloodlines distinct thus making it more re-playable

KotOR 2
same as Bloodlines, too buggy and lacking content

KOTOR II. If LucasArts had given Obsidian the time to properly finish it, the game would have been a true masterpiece. As it stands now, it's gem that is fundamentally flawed by its rushed ending.

I've always felt that Brink seemed to hold a lot of potential. Cool setting, cool art design coupled with some nifty customization and mechanics. The final product was painfully clunky however and the game modes were quite restrictive or even tedious.

Dead island could have been great but due to being repetitive its only good at least it had the balls to be nothing like the trailer everyone loved

Mount and Blade
Don't get me wrong, the games are great and I play them regularly, well, Warband at least.
But I keep staring at the screen and saying to myself. "Man, if they added this or that feature, or if this part of the game was better, or if the AI and pathfinding was improved this could be the game of my life, Rank 1, untouchable."

Agreed, I was pleasantly surprised by AP, I had initially written it off as a game I wouldn't play but I read up on it and really enjoyed it when I did. I think Dragon Age 2 fits in this pretty well, it could have been a great game with a bit more variation in the dungeon areas and a less retarded ending sequence.
