By every right, Kingdom Hearts should have failed from the concept alone. But now I'm angry that there isn't a third installment in the main series (4th depending on how you view Chain of Memories).

Diablo 2. That game was too awesome. Found myself wasting countless of hours on it. DAMN YOU DECARD CAIN
Man, the best thing is when you finish on Hell all you get is that stupidly rendered, piece of shit photo of Decard Cain saying 'Congratulations!'. I burst out into a fit of laughter after having put countless hours into it to beat it on Hell only to be greated by that ugly pic that looks like someone threw up over the screen.

Man I love Diablo 2.

I haven't played it yet, but Red Steel 2 is getting much better reviews then I ever thought it would. I was expecting another piece of poop like the last game.

And uh...people are going to HATE me for saying this, but I found myself enjoying Sonic and the Black Knight more then I ever dreamed of. Giving Sonic a sword is still a retarded idea, but I'll be damned if I didn't have fun playing it.

Puzzle tanks.
Basically filled up my entire junior year of honors chem with that game because my teacher was out for months and our sub didn't care what we did. Now I just plug in some music and play away.

To add to that, Audiosurf brings way too much enjoyment from just listening to music.

Plants vs. Zombies. The concept seems horrendously casual-gamer oriented, but I found myself being sucked in. I've played through it 3 times now. ^_^
dammit, ninja'd >3>

But yeah, most Popcap games are the perfect example of the miraculous underdog.

Also, most hardcore Sonic fans didn't particularly enjoy Sonic Adventure 2:Battle, but it was one of my all-time favorites on the GC.

I can't help but think of God of War. I friggin love that game, but before I ever played it, and watched people play it, it just seemed so simple and non-dynamic. While that may even be partially true, it doesn't matter, because it turned out to be so ridiculously fun to me that I found myself second-guessing my enjoyment many times. But it still holds to be purely awesome.

Also [at PhunkyPhazon], your avatar image. This has been far more entertaining to me than it should have been. Good job.

Portal. It's a short puzzle game that wqas bundled in with the more popular half life episode and Team Fortress 2 games. It was only meant as a little diversion but has ballooned into a behemoth of games.

Boom Blox I hear was very good... Oh! and I enjoyed Medal of Honour Airbourne as well. (I like the ragdoll deaths better than the default death animations for CoD).

There was a flash game on Newgrounds awhile back called "Learn to Fly" which kept me entertained for hours upon hours upon hours of unlocking new silly shit.

That company probably has the BEST formula for a game ever.
Here's some money, some rides and some squishy blood-filled skinbags.
Now, BLOW THEM UP! (Note: Not actual aim of game)
I have this on the original XBox, controls are a *****, but damn is it FUN!

Deus Ex.

By all means, that game should have sucked balls. Poor AI, crappy shooting controls, long dialog trees.

Then the story came in and rocked.

Team Fortress 2. Oh, look, a pack-in with my copy of Portal. It's supposed to be good, but I never play online, because if I wanted to get cheap-shotted a thousand times I can just up the difficulty offline. Well, here goes nothing.

(fifteen seconds later)

[bonesaw to the face] Take THAT, you dumb spy! This is AWESOME!
If I had never played other Valve games, I would have thought the exact same thing. However, the original CS, Half-life and Portal kept my expectations up...

Robot Unicorn Attack is far far more awesome than it really should be. But dammit. It's fantastic and addictive.

C&C Renegade.
Picked it up in a first decade of C&C anthology, and went into it expecting a bland shooter.....but I got a game that strongly reminds me of cheesy 80's action movies. The rediculously MANLY protagonist, the heroic trumpeting when he rappels from a helo, the disapproving superior.....lemme just say, I'm playing hrough the whole thing pretending to be Schwarznegger or Stallone. That just makes it pure gold in my eyes.

Also Multiwinia...
A friend showed it to me and I thought I'd never have a copy of it on my computer...
That first game sealed the deal though...

A modal verb cannot precede a preposition. I'm not being a grammar Nazi...
I don't think the term 'modal verb' would be used by someone who is not a grammar Nazi or a linguistics specialist, heh.
I'm an English major, which completely effects my knowledge. You're probably right in saying that nobody really follows the intricacies of our language (aside from linguists and autistic savants).

This isn't a horrible mistake on the OP's part, though. The oral forms of 'should've' and 'should of' are to blame. I guess I was grumpy.
