I figured Mercenaries: Agents of Destruction was going to end up a poor-man's GTA rip-off, and it kinda was... but that didn't stop it from being fun. If only the sequel had held up... or they'd released the first one for the PC, so I could continue to enjoy it long after the death of my PS2...

Team Fortress 2 = Well, not really for me. This game is why I bought The Orange Box in the first place...

Heavy Rain = A slow paced game with quick-time events and can barely be defined as a "game" ends up being one of my favorite game stories of all time?

I'm an English major, which completely effects my knowledge. You're probably right in saying that nobody really follows the intricacies of our language (aside from linguists and autistic savants).

This isn't a horrible mistake on the OP's part, though. The oral forms of 'should've' and 'should of' are to blame. I guess I was grumpy.
EFFECTS your knowledge, eh?
Yes. Effects is a verb, though a seemingly obscure one. You'd be surprised at how many people don't know this.

Crusader Kings. Yes, I knew it would be awesome. It's made by Paradox. But it was even more awesome than that.

Tell me another game where you can murder your family systematically in order to ensure the best son becomes your heir? :p

the LOST game actually. I am a huge LOST fan and have seen every episode to date and so I had to buy the game (even though I heard it was crap) and I really didn't expect much from it. I got it for $13 bucks and it only took me 6 hours to beat, but I really enjoyed the story and it wasn't frustrating or annoying cause I wasn't dying all the time and such. Maybe my low expectations made it seem better than it was, but for a 2 star game I had a lot of fun :)

Pokemon, I mean just stop and think about what it actually is.

Oh and for me, although not for many others. Halo Wars. I expected it to be pretty terrible, but when I actually got into it I found it really quite fun. 'Tis one of my favourite RTS games.

Portal.
I never thought I could have so much fun with a game that took up such a small amount of time! It just shouldn't have been so awesome, yet it is Mind-blowing how awesome it truly is!
