Psst. Monster Hunter Frontier is coming to the 360.
Unless something's changed that I don't know of.
I never had much problem with Tri. But then I'm playing on the classic controller and have played the series since the original PS2 release. I'm so used to circumnavigating it's problems I don't even notice them anymore.
Except for when my fingers start to hurt while playing Unite.
I'd say a really bad game that could have been better with better controls...
Lair (PS3)
'Nuff said. They TRIED to fix the controls but it didn't work.
Yeah, but I don't really consider that a new generation Monster Hunter, it's just a port of an older version :/ I was thinking more along the lines of Shadow of the Collosus sort of freedon and exploration crossed with regular Monster Hunter fun.

Monster Hunter controls fine, so I don't know where your idea that they're terrible comes from.
Then again, I'm one of those people that seems to have no problems with games that have 'terrible controls.'
You kidding me? As much as I loved and bought MH2, Freedom Unite and Tri, I can't deny that each and everyone of them frustrated the hell out of me, annoying controls on PSP that had my fingers playing a game of twister at times, annoying camera which took away from the action at times, slow and cumbersome animations that could mean you getting hit while trying to heal yourself or sharpen your weapon, it was okay when with a partner, but on your own it would be one of the most annoying things ever, I've never been killed in any other game trying to heal myself while being attacked by a relentless enemy every two seconds, waste of one of my three lives -_- and money.
I don't care for lock-on because I prefer the skill that comes with aiming correctly when attacking and I like defensive actions, so there are some features I don't mind that come with the challenge, but there are still those annoying game halting flaws that often have me giving up on the games. I have yet to complete any of my Monster Hunters -_-.
