there is a chance for any game to be turned into a good movie you just need someone whos not in it for the money who can see it through and give it the respect it deserves not some of these twats who have heard that a game is really popular so lets make a realy crap movie by ignoring everything everybody loved about it and ignore the source material (im looking at you oober bawm if thats how you spell your name you fat sack of shit)

There are some games that could be done well as movies... Halo could make a good movie, Bioshock could too. The issue is how Hollywood really fails at bringing these together. Either they try to stay too close to the game, or they somehow otherwise manage to screw up the entire thing. I could totally see a Halo movie, given it's not based around Masterchief, and only loosely base around the original series, it could pull it's own plotline in the war and tell a story in that Universe created by Bungie. It won't be done though because Hollywood is going to screw that over if they try.
Solitaire...Oh god T_T Civilization, Rise of Nations, anything RTS pretty much that doesn't have a story mode.
Portal. It would get utterly butchered if Hollywood went anywhere near it although I think that applies to most games. It has the potential to be an amazing film but it wouldn't and it would be sad to see the thing sullied.
World of Goo too. It would be really cutesy and Disney-like or really dark and Tim Burton-like rather than striking a balance between the two. And the entire plot would be predictable from the first 15 minutes.
