Sure, it's not a specific game but most people here seem to hate on the Wii, so I'm going with that.

Dynasty Warriors, the only grindfest I find amusing.

Gundam Crossfire, it has a few problems but was fun for the first 2 playthroughs for each faction. On the thrid however, it got less interesting because the mechs I had were mostly untouchable and the only weakness was that they had a helluva time hitting planes. Gundam was absurdly uber and neigh-indestructible while the Gelgoog and Gouf-Custom on the Zeon side of things were almost as good.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. I rented it figuring an easy grand (which it was) and be damned if I didn't find myself enjoying it.

Indigo Prophecy.

It falls under the banner of games to refer to when the story gets too complex for some people to understand (see Zero Punctuation), but I LOVED that game despite the less than great gameplay mechanics because of the story. You cared about the characters. You are the one who advanced the story on your terms. I have yet to play a game with a more compelling story than that (granted, I can follow the storylines of the most confusing JRPGs, so that might be a skill in and of itself). I look forward to what appears to be its spiritual successor: Heavy Rain.

Obligatory: Beyond Good & Evil.

On a serious note, though, I would say Steambot Chronicles. It had some nice depth which went largely unappreciated by most.

Pathologic. Barely anyone outside of Russia played it, and even fewer of those people actually liked it. I think it's because those people heard it was very violent, only to discover that the violence is less 'Saints Row' than it is 'a defenceless old man gets beaten to death on the street and nobody cares'.

And you're falling under the banner of people who mistake 'batshit crazy' for 'complex'. They pretty much pulled the entire second half out of their backsides, and they seem to fully admit this.

Mount & Blade. See people? This is an obscure game that got below average to mediocre reviews. Not mainstream juggernauts that got 5 stars and game of the year titles from everybody but your circle of friends. Halo 3? Fable 2? OBLIVION?! COME ON!

Have I seen this thread already? We've already had variations of "games you like that no one else does" and "games you hate that everyone else likes." I expect more of someone who's been here for as long as you have.

Gungrave, and Gungrave overdose.
If the title of this thread did not include the word "almost", I would've accused you of being a liar. Gungrave was a fun game. Though Overdose gave us one of the lamest names ever thought up in gaming (name abbreviated to RR), both were fun shoot-em-ups.

Black and white 2, it was an awesome game. It really relieved alot of stress if it was a long day.

I have a pretty f**ked-up sence of humor & am probably one of the 3 people who will defend American McGee's Bad Day LA. I can only assume that most of the bad rep it got comes from people who read the reviews & are big fans of the reviewers whom use "mob therapy" who create entertainment from bashing on things their viweres have never played or watched, thereby making it their only association. People who commonly use this technique are The Angry Video Game Nerd & the Nostolgia Critic, but I love their shows anyway.

I enjoyed Shadow the Hedgehog.

I will say that again: SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG WAS FUN! A great game, no, but a fun one.
I liked Sonic Unleashed, Haze, Lair, Fracture, Jericho, FEAR 2, Assassin's Creed, Enchanted Arms, Iron man on PS3 and Turning Point.

Oblivion, a lot of people hate it and so do my friends. I ask myself why? It is one of my favorite games with a lot of re-play value.
I've found the majority of people like that game moreso than people do not. But... I'm sorry
I have to wonder why most games reviews sites gavei t a 9.0. I finished the game 100% (will never play it again) just so I could try my best to like it and also to stop people telling me I didn't give it a chance. I nearly almost did like it at one point (I actually enjoyed the Knights of the Nine quest), but the broken voice acting, fairly dubious plot, and the very outdated, repetitive battle system broke the game for me.
Immersive, this was not. Bethesda = Fail.

Enter the Matrix. I've heard quite a few people say the hated it, but I LOVED it. It was fun, Matrixy, and they had all the actors (and everyone else) from the movies work on it. It was no quick 3rd party movie tie-in game, and Niobe, and Persephonne kiss. That was worth the $30m.

Heh, you must have one hell of a tolerant gut. Based on what you're saying, finishing "100%" of the game would entail the main quest, all the faction campaigns, the hundreds of side quests, and thousands of exploration opportunities, clocking in a total 80 hours of gameplay. And, since you mentioned the Knights of the Nine, I'll go under the assumption that you completed "100%" of both expansion packs including the main quest and all the side quests that each had to offer bringing it up to a total of 100 hours of playing a game that you hate. I'm not even going into the modding capability that the PC version holds. One question... Was someone holding a gun to your head while you were not enjoying yourself for so damn long?

....... And yes this IS my absolute favorite game of all time. Any game that gives me the urge to play it at least once every month three years after it came out must be doing something right in my book.
