Disliked from the general: Final Fantasy XIII.
Disliked from the critics: Nier.
Disliked from both: Digimon World 2.

Haunting Ground. Loved that game. Don't think many people played/remember it nowadays.

And you know what? I liked Resident Evil 5. I didn't think it ruined the series, and I've played them all (except for the 1st person/handheld ones...) Sure, it wasn't really that scary, but neither were the other ones as far as I'm concerned. Except for Regenerators in RE4. They terrified me with their weird breathing.

Unreal Tournament 3 (fuck "realistic" shooters, this was awesome!)
Prototype (just plain fun, you can not deny that)

I kinda liked Far Cry 2. The gunplay and fire physics was fun, and going after wildlife in a Jeep is always fun.

I´m quite fond of FFVIII. People tend to hate it, but I find it to be one of the most memorable games in the series.

Final Fantasy XII. It isn't the best, of course, but I still quite like it.

And the Force Unleashed I really enjoyed too.

Mirrors Edge, despite it's flaws I think it has a lot of potential and really want to see a second one.

I actually really enjoyed those games, especially the second one. My friend and I used to play it loads.

Really? The majority of my friends say FFVIII is their favourite. I've got to say for me, it's the worst of the best (FFVII, VIII, IX, X), but I still love it.

I liked Alpha Protocol. It was a solid rental I beat in a few days and it was enjoyable. I wouldn't run out to buy it, but its a nice story and alright action game.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance was fucking awesome. Playing as Deadpool in a video game is one of the most satisfying experiences ever. The story was awesome and actually made sense. The RPG elements were awesome and addicting.

MUA 2 on the other hand had a better story, but they stripped down a lot of RPG elements. The fusion attacks were but got old really fast because they looked all the same.

I can think of a few i loved, the halo series for starters, so many opposing COD lovers.
Shadowrun, fracture and timeshift also spring to mind for me.
I'm with you on Shadowrun. I love playing that game online with my friends. It really should have had more mainstream success. I'm glad it still has a dedicated, if tiny, community.

Yeah, i really dig all the titles you included there. But a lot of my friends are so fanatical about VII that whatever came next would be inferior. Since VIII was the first FF i played, it will always be my favourite.

There´s a theory that says that the first FF that you play is generally the one you consider the best. I guess it might be true!

I agree - FFIX was the first I properly played and thus it has become my favourite.

Mirror's Edge. I don't get why, considering how much people criticised it, Assassin's Creed got such favourable treatment, when Mirror's Edge also suffered from similar first-game issues.
