Soo, I recently finished Silent Hill, the first one on the PSX, for the 8th time!!! And at the end I had a weird thought: "WTF? Why am I playing it over and over again? I've seen all the endings already, and I know where every health drink is placed. I've got a new PC and some new games, why do I play the oldies?" Well, I thought some more, and realised, that I've been doing this for the last 5 years, since I got PS2. I've been playing RE4 Jak2 and 3, Crash bandicoots (the first three on the PSX) Diablo 2, first 4 Silent Hills, Portal(the first one) and some other ones... Then I realised, those games are just too awesome, there are no others like that, and they have carved themselves a place in my heart, that I cant just let them go.

So what are the games you keep replaying? What's the reason for it?

Final Fantasy 10. Mostly just to improve times and/or max out characters to take on Penance. Um, I guess I replay Dead Space 2 a lot, as me and a friend do copious Zealot playthrough's, and I do enjoy RE4 (for the pistol only challenge) and Devil May Cry 3 (no upgrades). I do enjoy the challenges :)

Back when there was no such thing as Online battles or EVs/IVs*, I always restart my pokemon games just to try out different combinations of pokemon to beat the elite four, and it get's boring using the same lv. 100 team exploring everywhere.

*sure they existed, but at the time no one knew or cared.

Brave Fencer Musashi and Medievil. I've played through both literally over 50 times each. Devil May Cry 1, Makai Kingdom, and any of the Disgaea games get honorable mentions as well. As for why, I guess simply because I don't ever stop having fun when I play through those games and I'm glad I don't. I love that there's a few games that I can never stop enjoying ^_^

I usually get 60+ hours from a normal game.. but a sport game I play much more often.

I've played through games like FF VII and IX, RE2 and 4, MGS 1-3, Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Half Life 2, Perfect Dark, Metroid Prime, and Mass Effect 1-2 about 10 times each. Not to mention most Mario games as well.

Ya know, just a few of the best games ever made ;).

Still play Diablo 2 sometimes, but I don't really count that as playing over again as much as just never quiting.

Brigadine for PSX gets played at least once a year.

And there's several older games I just happen to find myself playing again every few years like Majesty and Dungeon Keeper 2.

Plan on playing through Vice City again pretty soon since I got it recently on Steam.

San Andreas was fun to run around and kill people.
LittleBigPlanet 2... with the awesome community levels!
Mirror's Edge to get better times on the speedruns.
Thats about all I can think about atm.

I've played Oblivion for 4,000 hours, so that. I really dig the enemy scaling. Allows nothing to be over-powered or under-powered, so anywhere I go at any time offers consistent difficulty.

I also play each Pokemon generation 3 times. I buy all three versions, you see. Use all the starters, and totally different teams each game.

Then there is my 4 playthroughs of GTA 4. Love the campaign to death. And my 250-300 hours of Saint's Row. 200 in co-op, 100 solo. So many story runs to help my friends get achievements...

Persona 4. I manage to beat that game at least once a year, maybe more (keep in mind this is an Atlus RPG, meaning that you have to log in about a couple hundred hours if you want to get all the way through it). I'm currently trying to give Persona 3 a chance, but 4 may come up in the future. Once again.

Otherwise, I'd also go to GTA IV and Bioshock. Always great to revisit those games.

Halo: The entire series - I LOVE the original Halo and once I've played that, I just HAVE to play the next and the next... It's fun to start with Reach and play them in continuity order. Don't judge me...

Half Life 2, Eps 1&2 - Same as above, they just work really well when you play them end to end. I'm all for story driven games and this series has it in spades.

Alan Wake - There's just something about wandering dark forests at night...

Silent Hill 2 - The heartbreaking story, the quirky characters, the FEAR... how can I resist?

Mirror's Edge - Yeah the story sucks, but there's something almost hypnotic about running and jumping in such a bright white city...

Portal 2 - Seriously, why can't I stop playing it...

The Zelda series, Assassin's Creed 2, the Metroid series(2D, not Prime, Prime needs recovery time, fun but draining.)

Portal 2 since I saw that cube trick video, now I've been trying to sequence break it all day :p

Devil May Cry 4. I just love that game. Doesn't have dodgy controls like 1, not quite as hard as 3, not as shit as 2, just right :)

Monthly Rez playthrough oh yes oh yes.

Other than that - I play *all* my games from time to time, but I don't know if I have one particular one that's a staple of any given month.

I've played Oblivion to death, and now I'm right on with Portal 2 in every waking moment. I've finished single player three times already (still waiting on co-op thanks to the PSN crash), and now I'm going to see if I can get really fast times in all the test chambers. It's yet another excuse to play it again, I really can't get enough of it at the moment.
