You just don't care about for some reason? Now, I don't mean super popular games that if you don't like people look at your like you're weird.

I mean games that have stuff in it that make it seem like on paper it's a game you would really enjoy, but when you actually play it you just can't get into it.

Like for me right now it's Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. On paper, I should be dancing with joy over this game. It's probably the only video game in the history of forever that has the uniqueness of having my favorite comic book character and my favorite video game character together in the same title (She-Hulk and Phoenix Wright for anyone who cares for additional details)

But for some reason I just can't bring myself to really care that much about UMvC3. I mean yeah, I'll probably get it used down the line (used only because I'm mad at Capcom for not bringing over AAI2 and I don't want to support what they've been doing with fighting games lately)

So what's a game that on paper has stuff that really appeals to you, but when it comes to the game itself you feel somewhat negatively towards?

Football games like FIFA or Pro Evolution.

I love football in real life.I watch it regularly,I played it for years(and would probably still be playing if it wasn't for my dodgy knees),I keep up to date on all the latest news/gossip etc....and yet I just don't get any enjoyment from football video games

Saints Row: The Third.

It was meant to be THE superior game to Saint's Row 2 not a step backwards from Saint's Row 2.

Skyrim. I was enjoying it at first but I got bored really quickly, now I can't even play it for more than 20 mins before I have to do something else.

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm

I've never been interested in raiding, but enjoyed the levelling, the atmosphere and the story, and Cataclysm promised to update the 1-60 game, redesign the zones and advance the story. Well they did all that, but the new zones are so heavily scripted they feel lifeless, there's some truly awful writing in the quests, and the increase in the rate of xp gain and ridiculously low difficulty makes 1-60 feel like 1-20.

The original Deus Ex, probably. On paper, it sounds great. A deep story with great RPG/shooter gameplay and near unlimited replayability. Shame that actual product had aged terribly, so when I tried it a few years back... yeah, not gonna be touching that again.

Halo bored the hell out of me. I've played a lot of FPS's, including ones that don't get the heaps of praise this series does, but I completed the first level and nothing clicked for me.

I've played the first level of each subsequent release, apart from Reach, and been met with the same feelings of overwhelming mediocrity, I don't know what's not working for me.

Necrovision.
Plenty of my pals considered it a very good game, much better than one and only Painkiller. I installed it, tried to play it, after 92010 cutscene i gave up. I like to play games, i like to watch movies, not the other way. :|

I'm really struggling with Alpha Protocol. I picked it up before Christmas because I missed it when it came out. Now, I normally love Obsidian's offerings, but after the poor tutorial section with clunky controls, the crappy character customisation and offensive background choices I gave up before even getting in to the actual game. It's still sitting on my desk, I suppose I might give it another go some day.

(I have a big office desk with my gaming PC on, cluttered with music stuff, sheet music books and game boxes. Lots of rooms for "I'll play it eventually" titles on there!)

Saint's Row the Third. I should love it because... well come on. It's Saint's Row but totally over the top.

But I don't love it because it's over the top. The joy of Saint's Row 2 came from the insane or epic moments being few and far between so they're more enjoyable when they happen. In Saint's Row 3 they happen so often that it just becomes boringly routine.

I know people will hate me..

Bioshock, I played it many times, getting the 100% completion thing done all weapons ect ect
But I just don't love it, infact I think I barely like it. I tried so hard to. The story is intreguting, but I thought 'meh so you're genetically altered to follow 'would you kindly' not so bad'

The world did look good but it wasn't extremely great. And the gameplay and controls were kinda clunky

Portal was always something I wanted to love desperately but then the actual game would put me to sleep. I usually like puzzles, but something in that game just didn't work for me.

League of Legends too. My friends all play it, and I had some fun with it for a little bit, and the whole idea of the game sounds awesome, but in practice I find the matches tend to be slow and repetetive. It basically devolves into whoever farmed better, wins!

Half-Life 2: Considering I loved the original, the second game bored me, especially having played Halo 3 years prior. It was a step backwards for FPSers as far as I was concerned and I was actually relieved that the old school designed FPSers pretty much died with that game.

I know there's a huge and rabid Dwarf Fortress fan base, but after a few attempts at learning how to play the game I've just given up. Sure, maybe it's a good game once you get into it, but the interface is just plain horrible and a massive barrier to entry.

Also Skyrim. I am a Bethesda fanboy. My computer upgrade cycle was determined by Bethesda's release schedule. I eagerly awaited Skyrim for years. It came out and I got bored 70 hours in.

Normally I can play a Bethesda game till I collapse from exhaustion then wake up later and play some more. Not Skyrim. This has made me a sad panda.

<font color=red> Terraria: I loved the Minecraft experience well past the time a majority of my friends seemed to get over it. Yet, when they move on to a game that is similar in a great many ways, I just couldn't get into it. It's not a foreign genre, I can pretty much adore anything flaunting any form of creationism. I tried, and tried but to no avail. At least I can play casually, at best.

<font color=red> Ratchet and Clank - Future: Don't get me wrong, I loved these games. But that's the problem. I just loved them. It's unacceptable! After completing these games, I just felt no reason compelling me to spend any more time with them. There's no replay value. The precessing series (Ps2) didn't have any replay value either, but that was no obstacle while continuing to beat each game multiple times. I guess it sounds ungrateful to insist that something I love so much should be able to produce a feeling greater than what it gave me, but I felt that the older games were just better at conveying my interest away from everything else. Escapism, to say.

The Elder Scrolls series. The settings seem great and the gameplay plays out somewhat originally, but I can't quite get interested in it. Can't quite say what it is that is repelling me, but I wish I knew.

I am a huge fan of the Assassin's Creed games... At least I thought I am.
I got Assassin's Creed Revelations and...

I need to play through it, I NEED TO. I mean, I want to know whats happening in the story and I love all of the games until now so I should be enjoying this.
... But no, I am not enjoying it. Why? No idea, its exactly the same as AC2 and AC2:Brotherhood.

Also - Skyward Sword.
I love Zelda but I just can't get myself to enjoy this game. When I started it up, I was so extremely hyped and I loved it until I beat the forest level. I feel forced to fire up my Wii and play more of it now, but I don't feel like it... EVER (I just got all the tablets... That's where I stopped).

Skyrim. I like open-world games and I'm usually a total sucker for your typical epic fantasies, but for whatever reason, Skyrim didn't grab me at all. I guess it just didn't have enough focus for me. I can only fuck around pretending to be a pirate trapped in a fantasy world for so long before I want an actual story to really delve into. That, and Red Dead Redemption, although a large turn-off was the trademark infuriating Rockstar controls. Grrr.

(Also, I'm waiting for somebody to come into this thread and say that they played Skyrim for "only" eighty hours before they got bored of it.)
