Bioshock, LA Noire, and Chrono Trigger.

Bioshock had a great story and setting, but the whole second half was just a slog to play through, and the first half was only bearable.

LA Noire was wonderful for the first handful of missions, but the whole black dahlia thing was arduous and repetitive, the vice cases were trash, I gave up before the last desk, the face capture was great but its impact on the gameplay was mixed at best, the story was unflinchingly rigid despite the possibility of multiple paths, and the city itself was full of dead space and was largely wasted potential

Chrono Trigger has great music, and some of the details that go into the quests and the time travel elements are excellent, but battle was nothing special, the characters were only adequate, and the story was not sufficient to hold me interested

The Witcher 2.
Bought it for $60, thinking I'd fully enjoy it, but alas I didn't feel compelled to keep playing it after a day or two.

I really tried to like the Assassin's Creed games. I beat the first one and Bloodlines on the PSP but I couldn't get in to the story. Probably because I found it convoluted. This only increased with the second main game which I got about half way through but then quit.

The second and third Halo. I don't know why I find them so dull

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm

It's mostly the expansion I didn't like. I started playing during "Wrath of the Lich King" with friends and I had a blast but once Cata came out, the joy just sort of got sucked out of the game. My friends switched servers to do their hardcore stuff (which I wasn't into) so I started playing around with the new 1 - 60 content which was pretty nice. I was super disappointed with the female worgen. I really wanted to roll one so I could play through some Alliance content, but they were so hideous and broken. I tried to roll one 8 times, 2 of them being death knights. But their looks and sounds were so embarrassing and frustrating I couldn't stick with them. So I rolled quite a few males, but didn't feel as connected with them. I think the highest level one is 43 or something. Also, due to the amped up difficulty, I did not want to touch any of the 80+ content. Parts of the community became so hostile towards casual players and PUGs that I didn't want to tackle anything without my friends. So I just ended up doing a bunch of the earlier content until I got bored with it and stopped playing. I really wanted to enjoy it and have fun with my friends like I use to do, but it was difficult to convince them to roll any new characters and their 3 hour scheduled raid periods kept them busy.I'm keeping track on the progress of the new expansion, but I doubt I'll go back to it.

Skyrim. Completely void of any substance and the gameplay was dull, generally I liked the RPG elements in earlier TES games but Skyrim didn't even have that going for it in the combat department, everything felt toned down and homogenized (especially the spells). Really nice environments though.

Planescape Torment. Boring, boring, boring, slow, more dialog, boring. I really tried to get into this one because there's so few examples of a great video game narrative, and apparently Planescape is one of them, but I could never get more than a couple of hours in.

Dark Souls. I don't even think the game is that hard, before anyone says anything, it's pretty reasonable when you figure out each encounter, that being said, actually doing so felt like I was playing some kind of really punishing puzzle game with a cover-based shooting swords and shields equivalent. I never felt satisfied when I killed any of the bosses because by then I had learned the encounter and it felt mechanical and no longer posed a challenge, the gameplay itself was also just alright, most of your time is spent being very careful. Personally if I was doing something like, say, smashing up a bar, doing it very carefully wouldn't enhance my experience.

FarCry 2

I wanted to like it but I couldn't get passed the driving and the fact that every checkpoint respawned

Ico. I hated that game until the last hour or so. Granted, I didn't play it for the first time until a month or so ago, but it was still damn frustrating.

Half-life 2, the first one OK, not great but a good game, but the second was so mind numbingly dull. It was just the same average game-play, in a pretty environment with a pretty physics engine, but with a below average story and lifeless characters. There really is nothing about that game to keep you engaged.

When it comes to MMOs I'm a PvE kind of guy. I've got no intrest at all for PvP, so when I realised that WAR was pretty much just a PvP game I tried really hard to enjoy it. For a while I did, but there was just so much in that game going against me. Not being able to be an altoholic was the worst thing. Trying to decide which class to devote myself entierly to really didn't work.

Oblivion and Fallout 3

I have tried so many times to love these games, but i can't. the weird thing though I love Skyrim and Fallout: New Vegas!
Maybe I should try New Vegas then, because I absolutely abhor Oblivion yet love Skyrim, and I was never particularly fond of Fallout 3.

As for the original question, Final Fantasy XIII. I tried so very hard, I even made it into the third disk past the open world area, and I just can't bring myself to finish it. I've had it since launch day. Every time I play it I see so much wonderful potential so poorly executed, I just can't bare to actually put it into my 360 anymore.

Mass Effect 1. After loving 2 to death I was rather shocked at how downright bad ME1 was. I tried to like it but it had horrible visuals, boring planets and side missions, and absolutely abysmal combat and terrible inventory.

Oblivion. In anticipation of Skyrim, I thought I'd try oblivion. Open world RPG with good reviews from the fans? The graphics look bad but maybe worth a try? Oh no no no. Boring story, all dungeons are bland tunnel-caves, absolutely the worst combat and level-up system of all time.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Largely positive reviews, an RPG shooter with ways to explore? Sure! Oh but the combat and stealth is rather bland and not fun or exciting at all. About half way through I realized I hadn't been ENJOYING the game so why was I even playing it?

Heroes of Neverth. I love the concept, the graphic is good and the play style is addicting, but I can´t find myself to like it when everyone I play with (except for friends) acts like douchebags. It´s like they only wants to play with the best and not allowing us new to the game enjoy it because we don´t even know how to use the shop (it is confusing to navigate through). I want to like the game, being able to go online and have fun game, but how is that possible when everyone is doing their best to make me hate them and it?

Last time I played, I ended up with the final score 3/13/13 as Pyromancer. Not too bad for my second game after the tutorial, but what a (bad) game. When I got my first kill (after 6 deaths faster than the speed of light) even my team made fun of me for being so slow with the character and getting my first kill so late as 15 mins in. I tried to tell then that I was completely new to the game that I was playing as hard as I could, but that did not help. My point is, that this game could have been better if it was more user friendly towards new players like me and making it easier to find and join a game where we "n00bs" can play without being flamethrowerd to death by the pro and skilled players.

And a fair warning to all new players who want to try Heroes of Neverth; Avoid that matchmaking button at all costs! You will get burned by the flames (if you know what I mean)

Champion Online.

By all means it got an excellent character creator but even that wasn't perfect (by my standard). As typical of an MMO there were fetch and escort quests, point and click and the silly quest, logic and what nots.
So overall it didn't leave much of an impression to me.
i literally fell asleep at my keyboard whilst playing champions online =\

As for my input, i really attempted to like alone in the dark (the one on 360) but the control scheme just felt bloody awkward and was rather glitchy to say the least =\

Brutal Legend. I was really looking forward to playing it, but I absolutely HATED the RTS sde of it. Basicly, i liked most things about it except for the actual gameplay.
