Any Sports game ever.
I've also had a complete and utter aversion to all JRPGs, but the influence of the members of a certain crime fighting user group on this site has made me consider trying out Persona...

Not letting go of the sports one, though.

To state the obvious, broken games that still made it into the Steam Store.

Anything from Zynga, unless they completely change absolutely everything about their game making strategy.

Doesn't that exclude like 95% of AAA titles?

Anyway, I never play sports games. I just don't see the point. Tried playing FIFA (because fucking everyone plays FIFA), but there's barely any actual gameplay, and I don't like football anyway. Tried playing the Rugby equivalent (I can't even be bothered to google up the name) because I actually liked playing rugby for real. Same problem. If anything, it's more fun for me to watch a football or rugby match than to "play" one in a game.

I also mostly stay away from JRPGs because they tend to be very grindy and I find most japanese tropes unbearable. But there are JRPGs out there that I really like.

Final Fantasy VII. Way back when I first joined the Intarwebs, the fanboys of this game went on and on about it if someone even so much as hinted at the franchise. It got to the point that I was sick of the game without ever having watched even 60 seconds of it. That left me with absolutely no desire to play it at all.

And to take the thread title in a slightly different way...

I'll never play the real Thunder Force VI; the one Tecno soft was working on for the Dreamcast when they went under and vanished. This saddens me, because what we got in its stead was one really, really horrid fan game (Broken Thunder), and an OK, but not nearly as good as the previous games, official sequel that was made by someone else.

Moba games, and any Counter strike games. These types of games both contain a toxic community of players, and on the plus side, the game play in both of these games gets me bored in seconds.

Well, probably 95% of all games because there isn't enough time or money in the world to play all of them.
But I probably will never play Call of Duty and other modern military shooters, especially if multiplayer is involved; open world crime simulators like GTA, Saints Row pre-SR IV (with superpowers), Just Cause 2; sport games (aside of racing); any kind of sims or date simulator. None of those is my cup of tea.
Also I won't play anything that is exclusive on Origin or uPlay or Rockstar Social Club.

Madden.

I can't stand most sport games (although I've had fun with a football ("soccer") game before), but there's no possibility I will ever play something formulaic as Madden, dealing with a "sport" I don't care about, at all.

Also any MMORPG, if you'll accept "never again" as an answer.

Probably FIFA. I'm not a sports enthusiast, so I don't think they appeal to me, even if what they really are are turn based (or real time) strategies.

1) Any kind of hunting themed game

2 ) Candy Crush

3) Those "wait" games (farmville, etc)

4) Any MMO (I played WOW up to the burning crusade expansion, but no, never again)
- Unless someone out there can reinvent the MMO genre, maybe something like EVE but more noob-friendly

And for those of you ragging on DOTA and other moba games I have one thing to say:

You are......... totally right. I love DOTA, logged hundreds of hours onto it but wow. It is just the worst kind of community ever.

Ride to Hell: Retribution.
I'll not play that game. Ever. And I refuse to explain why, because doing so should not be required to begin with. The sheer wank in that game as permeated the Internet and filled it with loathing and rage.
On a related note, I very much dislike the 'You've got to play this game/ watch this movie just to see how bad it is!' argument. No, mate, I'm not watching or playing something just to see how terrible it is. I'm avoiding it for that reason, not running towards it.

Any horror game, and probably Borderlands. Everyone I talk to seems to love that series, but I just can't manage to enjoy it. I bought the GOTY edition of the first one on Steam for about $5, played it for about an hour, and I was pretty much done. I'm not sure why. I'm sure it's a great game. Just not for me, I suppose.

Silent Hill 4, because this is in the game

Seriously that thing gives me shivers.
And it's just as creepy as you can imagine. Just try and picture 2 of those things galloping at you, mouths agape like they want to swallow you whole!

You're going to need to go indie, big time. Almost all games have some kind of DRM.

Any Bioware game.
Any and all of the LEGO games.
Any game that requires a second-to-Steam DRM system. Especially Uplay.
Any JP game where content is "adjusted" (read: censored) during localization.
Any JP game where the always terrible-awful American anime circuit dubs are the only audio language option: dual audio or no purchase.

I'm sure there's more, but those are the big ones.

1. Console exclusives for consoles I do not own. $500+ is too steep for a single title, no matter how brilliant.
2. Evident shovel-ware.

Aside from that, anything is fair game. I'm not in any rush to publicly announce my disapproval of certain titles or genres by pouting that "I'll never love you! Never!" before gathering up my skirts and flouncing away.

MOBAs, MMOs, just about anything that is always meant to be played competitively and is heavily PC oriented. Sports games like Madden, Fifa, and the NBA games, along with driving games like Forza and Need for Speed don't interest me either.
