As and avid gamer and youtuber I discovered that some games are more fun to be watched than played.
So Escapists which games would you rather watch videos of than play yourself?

I liked watching Terraria videos more than I liked playing it. Maybe it was because it didn't live up to my expectations. It also depends on the person who plays the game.

Really? None. What games have stories that rival that of a good movie or show or novel?

Answer: none. What makes games worthwhile is the interactivity.

Really old & hard ones. Most of the entertainment comes from watching the player suffer and scream in impotent fury.

Other than that, nothing; I've never been comfortable just watching, I always have to play.

Pro Starcraft. I LOVE playing it, but those pro gamers are absolutely insane, and just drip with skill.

Anything I Wanna Be The Guy related. Also any Civilization game, I am terrible at them, but watching others play is always entertaining.

I like watching the Angry Video Game Nerd play the ridiculously hard NES games and get pissed off, but beyond that I'm all about playing myself.

Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, because they're beautiful games that I love to watch, but playing them myself would mean buying a console which I refuse to do. It would also involve me having to use a controller, which tend to cripple my hands.

Dude having played and completed both of these games I urge you to please play them if you haven't already it will definitely be worth it.

I wanna be The Guy or anything that it inspired. Sure I beat the game (twice) but it's more fun to watch other people scream at a hard game than to do it yourself.

I bet Starcraft 2 is a pretty hot contender for many people, me among them. It all depends on the mood though. Sometimes I'm really itching to play it myself and sometimes I love to just sit back and let the pros do their thing.

Also, speedruns of almost any game tend to be pretty fun to watch.

Yeah, they are pretty awesome. The problem is, as I said, I can't use a console controller. Not for long, anyway. I get crippling pains in my hands after a while, so unless they support a mouse and keyboard, I'm not ever gonna be able to play them. Besides which, I am certainly not going to buy a console just for two games.

Gotta agree with that, I learned a good deal from watching those. I had a great one that I tried in a fantasy mod about assembling a frankenstein's monster and trying to give it every promotion in the game, inspired by others. Plus it helps that I am always boring and just go for science / cultural victory every game.

To some extent, Minecraft, because I'm not as creative as other people. And Starcraft 2 because I'm incredibly bad at it but it's still a good spectator sport.
