Weve all had those moments when you're playing a game and can't help but notice how horrible the sound is sometimes. Either it be the sound effects, voice or music.

Games which i have muted are:
GTA4 - I coudlnt take the god awful sound track anymore. Every radio station was as bad as the next. When turning the radio off, i was left with Roman's voice and the sound of a car roaring or the sound of the city constantly bugging me. Also, helicopters = BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

Saints Row - The same reason as GTA but i left the voice and sound effects on, they were actually done well.

Skate 2 - The guys who picked the music and the person who voiced the camera guy needs to die.

Midnight Club 3 - I turned the SFX off in the end, they were way to loud and repeative, drowing out the music.

FF13 - I have to agree with Yahtzee, Lightning's shoes sound like a horse trotting down a cobbeled high street.

What games have you muted?

Two Worlds. I love it when topics like this come up as I always give this example and it never gets old for me.

I didn't just mute Final Fantasy XIII, I actually turned my T.V. off and brought my controller downstairs. I'm playing it right now by just tapping "A". I think I'm winning, let me check..............shit.

Luv the avatar, by the way.

Half Life 2. Every single person had awful dialogue except Freeman and the old people with doctorates leading the respective sides.
It was basically like listening to this for 20 hours.

I seem to remember muting Final Fantasy X at some point because the voice acting was so poor. Nothing else really stands out in my memory however.

It usually just wankers on XBL who're wanking on about who shouldn't be there or getting far too excited about winning.
And loathe and I'm to say it, it's usually yanks.
The Brits tend to use racist slang or homophobic diatribes.

Hmm...
After listening to the first ten minutes of dialogue in the original Halo (and the awful sound effects for enemies and weapons), I just muted it and put in my own dialogue.

I remember I muted the Shadow Temple and Well music in Ocarina of Time because it scared the hell out of my 6 year old self. Other than that, I also muted the Baten Kaitos voice acting. If you've never played it, imagine FFX's voice acting but worse. Much, much worse.

I usually turn of Mount&blades music as it gets old rather quickly. And play my own music to it.

I muted Gripshift and Trash Panic.

Those 2 are candidates for having the worst music in existence ever, Gripshift had terrible sound effects to match.

Ummm... Not a single game, actually. Sometimes I turned the music off in WoW to replace it with my own, but I didn't do that very often as WoW's music is generally sublime.

Awwww didn't you like Ezzzzy FM? That station in combination with ploughing through hordes of pedestrians might be one of the funniest things ever. I just could not stop giggling while doing that.

Edit:
Sorry 'bout that Furburt.

Final Fantasy 10, 12 and 13 on account of despicable voice acting.
Neverwinter Nights 2 on account of apocalyptically bad voice acting.

Usually play(ed) WoW with sounds much lower than my music, as well as Age of Empires, but I kept some things high, like alerts and map pings.

I switch Worms between music and in game depending on if it's my turn or not, unless I'm playing in the same room as the person then musics on the whole time.

Neither of these are because they annoy me though, just I'd prefer music on games where I don't have to think or listen out much.

Divinity 2 has the most repetitive music of any game ever so that goes off. I never had the sound on AOM either, just listen to music.

A few Multiplayer shooters once or twich but I mute on any game that has charchters that speak in that High piched, dribble way; the last example was Star Fox Command.... It was annoying so I muted it and listening to my music.
