Starcraft: Changing the RTS. Forever.

Halo 1: Changing the FPS. Forever

World of Warcraft: Changing the MMO. Forever
All good games, but none of them are innovative, they just did stuff previously done but better.

Maybe not Halo: CE with the regenerating health, but the others.

I don't know if it had been done before, but Battlefield 1942 for making it feel like an actual war.
I disagree with you there chief. WoW has set the standard on so many innovative and thoroughly entertaining MMo concepts, I lost count before Burning Crusade even launched. To use just one example: the incredibly robust economy and the AH system.

ARE YOU PEOPLE SERIOUS? No one put Runescape in? Runescape sucks so badly, it's actually an innovative game that game designers look to for guidelines on HOW NOT TO MAKE AN MMORPG GAME.

-Zelda for introducing saving into games.
I didn't know that, that's really interesting.

Okami, for using your weapon to shape the landscape, help people, and solve puzzles. Also, the art style and pretty much everything else about the game.
Shadow of the Colossus: excellent art style, innovative gameplay using existing techniques (climbing, swinging a sword and shooting a bow), for introducing a truly realistic horse, and being insurmountable in its charm.
Secret of Monkey Island, for being the first game that made humour the basis for story, characters and gameplay.
The Longest Journey, for making the story come before EVERYTHING else.
