This will be a highly subjective one, really...what games can you always go back to and play when you're bored and always find entertaining?

For me, it's the PSP's Maverick Hunter X remake of Megaman X, on 'Vile' mode with Hard difficulty. I may have memorized most of the enemy positions, but it's an entirly different game if you decide to take on a different boss first the way his weapon upgrades work...I almost never 'beat' it because once it gets to the Sigma stages I've got access to all my 'comfort' tools and it's all the same again, but the fun is just in picking completely insane boss orders and making do.

What games do you all play 'just because'?

Oblivion, if ever I don't know what to play then Oblivion finds its way into the disk drive, I always do the side quests and whatnot and to this day despite 60+ hours of playtime (on this character, I've probably had around 5 or 60 I still haven't completed the main quest line.
Oh also if I can't be bothered to do quests then you just save the game and go on a murdering spree in the Imperial City.

The persona series. I always have fun going back and seeing where the dialog choices can take me. also seeing how many people I can date at once before it blows up in my face.

Diablo 2.

Nearly endless character build possibilities. Fantastic atmosphere and ambience. Great monster designs. And of course the random aspects of it. Just when you think you've mastered an area, a little porcupine immune to both fire and ice shoots darts at your sorceress right after her merc was killed enemies casting some fucking curse or the other and nails her to the bloody wall, aaaaaargh.

Any of the NCAA football games I own, those games are so much fun to me, I play them a lot. I just really like starting a dynasty at a small school and turning them into a contender. Then I leave that school and become the coach of a higher prestige school that isn't doing as well and turn them back into a powerhouse program.

Also in the NCAA 2012 you can start a dynasty as a Offensive or Defensive Coordinator and work your way to becoming a head coach, I am really excited for the game to come out.

The Warcraft RTS campaigns.

As a massive lore buff (the shelf behind me right now has 9-10 Warcraft novels) it's always enjoyable to go through, and searching to find the items/easter eggs they hide throughout I've never gotten tired of.

Final Fantasy VI-X. They all never get dull and are all just so damn awesome
Also pretty much every Zelda game, especially Ocarina Of Time and Wind Waker. Those two games never ever get dull
There are a lot of modern games I often replay because they're just so much fun, like Red Dead Redemption and God Of War 1 & 2
Ooh! And Arkham Asylum, damn near perfect for pure enjoyment

So quite a few

Oblivion and X3 Terran Conflict. If you like space sims and like complexity, X3 is amazing. Be warned it has basically no tutorial, oh it tells you how to fly, other than that your on your own. Oh and there's a new one coming out that the trailer made me cream my pants....mmmmmm..X: Rebirth...

Indeed. The randomness of Diablo 2 is amazing. I've recently started playing Titan Quest which from what I've heard and seen so far is a Diablo clone, so the I'm expecting to be replaying this game several times, trying different classes and such.

But the game that I probably replayed the most would be Heroes of Might and Magic 3, generating a random map and going at it with friends or AI never seems to get boring. Or replaying the amazing campaigns over and over again, I've lost count how many times I've captured Steadwick.

Resident Evil 4. Because it's awesome. I have three save files I go back to:

Pro Mode - Special Weapons. I have the final boss launcher, infinite launcher, and chicago typewriter. This is when I want to kick ass.
Pro Mode - Upgraded weapons run. I have the blacktail, fully upgraded. Striker, fully upgraded. Butterfly, fully upgraded. Semi-auto rifle, fully upgraded. This is a lesser kick ass version.
Normal Mode - Special Weapons. Same as above, this is when I want to beat the game as humanly fast as possible and skip everything including difficulty.

Or, start from the beginning and do a pistol/knife run or start from the beginning and do a normal run.

I played San Andreas for a full year, literally almost every day there was at the least 15 minutes of gameplay. Great game. Oblivion I haven't "replayed" so much as I've 'been playing' it for more hours than any other.

I'd say in my top three for play time.

San Andreas
Oblivion
Mass Effect 2
