What games have you experienced with the strangest button mapping? I know that in most games you can just change it, but I'm looking for a game with the strangest default button mapping.

For me, it has to be Ratchet and Clank 3 for the sole reason that you have to shoot with circle.

I know that's not so much to complain about, but the rest of the games that I own are pretty normal.

Resident Evil 5. I can't play the game because the mapping is so retarded and you get maybe two other mapped choices which are equally bad. So in conclusion, RE5 sucks.

Uhh... it isn't that bad. I managed to play through it without any trouble from the controls.

OT: I find playing shooters on Xbox difficult for the first 10-15 minutes or so if I've been playing one on PS3 beforehand.

MGS3.

I spent an hour at the start screen, thinking, "Wait, is this it? Uhhh... isn't really much of a game..."

The fact they removed the lean mechanic in mw2 and moved special grenade and knife to q and e respectably still bewilders me.

Mass Effect. There are different buttons for holstering and unholstering your weapon, and throwing grenades was assigned to the Back button.

Possibly Matrix: Path of Neo. You can't even customise the controls yourself, you just pick Alpha/Beta/Gamma configuration. :? none of which work very well.

Dishonourable mentions:
Blade II (right analog stick punches, left analog stick moves you forward/backward and rotates the camera - ie, you can't move 360 degrees. Other buttons are for other forms of weaponry.
Devil May Cry 3 (solely because in spite of the customisable controls, Interact is always set to Circle...so if you want, say, the configuration from the original game, every time you attack something interactable you get an irritating message. ANNOYING)

Using the sword in MGS2 with the right analog stick was a bit weird as well

I know what you mean! I worked my way around the controls and found a fairly okay game but the controls are still awkward as hell. Why do I have to hold two buttons to swing a knife?

Transformers 2 Revenge of the Fallen. Man the button set up is really weird and takes a while to get used too.

I also experienced some wierd button mapping with Prototype and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 when I was playing them one after the other. The grab button in one was the attack button in the other. Really threw me off.

I know this is odd- but, World Of Warcraft - I have small-child hands so I can't say hit the skill bound to '6' on my keyboard while hitting space-bar to jump.

So now - I have to have my entire 10-skill Death Knight rotation in a /castsequence macro.

It's horrible.

Did you never play Resident Evil 4? One of the control schemes was the exact same. I spent hours on Resident Evil 4 so maybe that's why I was used to the controls.

Not exactly weird, but I played Battlefield 1943 before Bad Company and the button to change cameras in the car was up on the dpad so when I went into Bad Company I kept trying to change cameras in the cars with up on the dpad except that was the button to take pictures so I ended up getting an achievement for taking pictures on accident.

Two Worlds. If I remember correctly, all attacking was done with the right analog stick. I may be thinking of a different game though, havent played Two Worlds since I first played it.... And rightfully so.
