Brink, I don't know I don't think I gave it much of a chance and I've considered trying to get into again but it just didn't seem very exciting when I played it at first.

As been said before me.
FF13.
They give you the option to have the computer do all the combat.

90% of the game turns into you eating a sandwich and chatting with your wife about how her day was.

Assassin's Creed. I mean, I think the story and concept is kinda interesting, but the missions just start repeating and all the grayish cities start to look the same. It's not a game I couldn't finish, but I feel kinda MEH doing it.

And Eternal Sonata. Don't get me wrong, I love me some anime/JRPG/japanese games, and I do want to finish. There's certainly some things I like about it, but god there were several story scenes where I just wanted to shout at the screen "SUM IT UP ALREADY!!!" I really don't need to see a ten minute death scene drag on. Okay, I get it, you feel guilty about your betrayals and whatnot and want to soliquey (sp?) about it, but this should only take 3 minutes tops since you're, oh I don't know, DYING!

Psychonaughts. The difficulty curve was like a steep mountain on an flat endless plane. I went back & forth between almost falling asleep to having an anxiety attack.
There are many things I love about Psychonauts, but most of them don't involve the actual gameplay. I'm at least halfway through the game (I'm at the asylum on the island) and I just can't bring myself to play anymore.

Speaking of Double Fine, I'll mention Costume Quest. I had a blast...for about an hour. The next 5 or 6 hours were deadly boring, even though I never stopped loving the designs and the characters and the story (again, everything but the gameplay). I only finished it because of its brevity.

I liked No More Heroes a lot, but it sucked when you had to grind to earn enough cash just to afford the entry fee for the next assassin battle. I remember my shoulders drooping in resignation when I realized I'd have to do something dull for an hour just so I could do something fun again. Luckily, they dropped the entry fees from the sequel.

I think the first one was kinda boring because it was the same mission over and over again. But AC2 is kinda different in that there is some variety

Final Fantasy 8. Oh good lord Final Fantasy 8...
Ok, 11-14 I can understand, but 8? 8 was fun. Even if you were grinding mug targets or Island Closest to Heaven/Hell for levels and stuff, you could still have fun. I particularly enjoyed using limit breaks with fun sides like Angel Wing and Slot, or locking down all my enemies with tons of status magic and beating them to death.

I got bored enough of The Witcher that I uninstalled it after a few hours.

I also never finished Quest 64. It was a lot of fun when I started, but it seemed like it dragged on a bit too long.

Then of course there's MMOs, that I can't really say were bad games, because I dumped hundreds of hours into them before getting really bored with them, but I did eventually :) Stuff like SWG, WoW, DDO, LotRO, etc

Reading the actual thread, I have to agree with Grand Theft Auto. After being banned from the game as a child/teen, I finally bought them over the summer on a steam sale and dear god were they boring. Even shooting rampages were boring, and the gameplay was mediocre at best...meh, whatever.

Sins of a Solar Empire. I literally fell asleep while waiting for my fleet to attack the enemy fleet.

Whatever you say, Glactic Civilizations 2 so much better than Sins.

I just started Infamous a couple of nights ago because I got it for free from the PlayStation Welcome back thing. I played it for a couple of hours and haven't felt inclined to play any more since then.

Guilty pleasure, I loved 8, in fact, despite its lack of direction in plot and astounding gameplay flaws, most of which were pretty pointless, I loved it to bits and it is my favorite FF game :D Which says a lot about me considering I've played most FF games except anything out of the 1-14 and excluding 12 & 14

SPORE - a game of evolution, nice concept, but the execution was a game that was far too boring. (the much older game by the discovery channel called 'evolution' was a lot more fun, at least it was challenging, too bad its so ancient now as to be unplayable).

Civ5 - lets take the civ game and strip away wonder movies, strip away the nice replay system, make multiplayer almost unplayable, do away w/the excellent pitboss pbem dedicated turn server, do away with religion, do away w/the zoomed out spherical planetary view that actually makes ya feel like you are conquering a world, make an AI that is so completely brain dead that winning on deity isn't even terribly difficult, but the graphics are nicer so its all worth everything we lost somehow.

I'll second the latest iterations of the final fantasy series (except for the tactics games, liked those)

WoW - fun at first, but so tediously repetitive that ya reach a point where ya can't even stomach the notion of going anywhere near it.

For those who didn't like oblivion due to the leveling system or the game being too easy, try out the mod - oscuro's oblivion overhaul, might breathe new life into the game for ya. If ya didn't like it for other reasons, then it probably won't help any, however. hehe

Dragon Age Origins - both of 'em. Fun at first, enough to be worth having bought them. But I reach a point where I get bored and just can't go on, couldn't finish either of them. Yet they are still installed because I keep thinking that maybe one day i'll find myself in the mood to sit down and finish them.

Playing Dragon Age: Origins as a 2-handed warrior. There was more than a few times where I was actually falling asleep as I was playing the game with no prior fatigue whatsoever.

For me, it was Prototype. Seriously, I found that I could be taking down tons of soldiers and monsters and machines, and I'd be yawning, literally yawning.

I blame it mostly on the really crappy soundtrack they had with the game. Even a lullaby is more exciting than the tunes they expected you to listen to.

Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom

I tried. Even with the dismal recommendations from both father and brother, I tried it for two hours. I even went online. Even with the one other person I found, still wasn't more fun than watching paint dry.
