I really try hard to curb my fan-girl isms. To the point I'm really not sure.

I guess deep down my nostalgia at certain games grips me no matter their faults.

But I don't really like to champion games unless I feel someone is just plain being an uninformed numpty.
Like World of Warcraft I guess, I wouldn't call me fanboy/girl, but I would certainly leap to it's defense in the face of: "Durr, only no-lifer basement dwellers play WoW, gawd."

And that to me is not fan-ing in any way, I'm gently reminding said person to do their research. (And if they fail to reciprocate to that kinder approach, THEN I can jump to fanboy mode).

Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Metal Gear, Valve, Jonathon Blow, and Banjo-Kazooie to be more specific.

I used to be a fanboy of the Halo series, but quickly realised Bungie had no idea what the fuck 'story continuity' is.

care to expand on that complaint? i never really paid attention to the story too closely and its been a while since i played any of them besides reach. did read all the books however so im not completely clueless its just i cant quite piece together right now why your complaint is valid

I wouldn't quite say fanboy but I'm definitely a fan of them.

Every single Bioware game in existence so far... Well excluding Dragon Age, a game I found okay but not quite bordering on greatness.

The Resident Evil series... Come on, how can you not love it... Its horrid writing and B movie plot has created so many memes, also the older games still manage to be scary as shit.

The Punisher game, yeah its not got the best ratings and it was mostly ignored when it came out however I love the game. Its pretty damn excellent and the closest anyone as ever came to making the Punisher outside of the comics. That's probably because Ennis wrote it.

The current UFC games. I love these games and I don't think they really get much credit from the video game community. Though it seems many people in the video game community can't stand the sport. I personally love it and I think these games have done a good job of translating the sport into a video game. I say current UFC games because from what I played of the older ones, they were pretty shit... Though I hear the Dreamcast one was brilliant for the time, I never owned a dreamcast so I never got the chance. Also, this doesn't include the E.A MMA game... I haven't had the chance to play them yet but I did try out the demo and to be honest... Its a K1 game with a grappling mechanic strapped on the end.

The Fable series. I love these games, sure there not the best out there but they just have this charm to them that you don't see in many games. There not afraid to make fun of them selves and they are funny games and I do enjoy them despite their shortcomings.

For now I think that's about it.
