It was a robot Fighting game for the Dreamcast. I remember the main guy I used had a giant grenade launcher on it's shoulder and a lazer cannon in it's chest. It was the only game we had for thr Dreamcast >_<

Edit: It wasn't Tech Romancer.

There was this game for the NES (I think) that I vaguely remember. I never actually played it, but I remember falling in love with the illustration on the cover - screenshots of the game itself looked kind of crappy. This actually happened to me quite a lot back in the day, when pictures on the box and manual looked way cooler than the game itself. Anyway, the main character was a little chick or bird or something, and there was also a whale. On the cover, I can vaguely remember the bird-thing standing on a cliff overlooking a coastal scene, and you could see the whale in the water, and other characters may have been standing around. The picture was kind of sinister and surreal, but I loved it.

The style was kind of similar to this artist's [http://www.thebillmayer.com/], if I recall correctly. Not sure if it actually was him, though.

EDIT: And yes, I did find The New Zealand Story [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Zealand_Story], but that doesn't seem to be quite right...

I vaguely remember some old PC game. This would have been maybe 10 years ago, give or take. It had something to do with puzzle-like maze navigation. The main detail I remember is that I always played it on the computer at the "drop off your kids here because you don't want to shop with them" centre in a Co-op store. Anyone have any clue what I'm talking about?

I went back to that same Co-op (it's in Calgary), and they still have that computer. I'd like to go on it to find the game, but I can't think of a way to do it without seeming extremely creepy.

I remember it, but there was War of the Monsters

A friend had it, he lost it, then moved away.

I have never heard or seen another copy of that game ever again

They should remake it on the PS3/XBOX360

The only JRPG I only liked, because it was Pokemon, but than with Nightmare Fuel-like monsters.

You were this really annoying kid (JRPG, y'know...) who had to save the world from destruction (because, y'know... JRPG) by catching monsters (because... well... JRPG, y'know...) which you could subsequently and mysteriously morph with one another. You could train the beasties, and they'd get better and more powerful and, ultimately, you'd save the world. I vaguely remember there being a scantily-clad lady (JRPG.) who in the west would either be jailbait or 'totally asking for it (JRPG.)

I don't remember the name, nor was it that impressive. But man, to the little boy that was me, it was like Pokemon for... well... people who were no longer little boys. Of course, looking back it was vastly inferior to Pokemon.

Still, had some great times with that game. Oh, and the best critter (at least, it was in my memory) was the first critter you could catch (does that remind you of a certain anime based on a certain... JRPG?)...

I can vaguely remember a game on the N64, I believe. You were a kid with black hair, and you could also turn into an older version of yourself at will, I think...maybe, anyway. I think there may have been a girl around somewhere as well. It was all classic Japanese sorta design in the setting, but there was funky stuff like lasers too.

And a huge mecha battle. REALLY huge mecha battle that involved flying across a plain while shooting the other mech from the cockpit of yours in first person view. Goddamn awesome. Really, really hard at the same time though.

No idea what it was called at all. Only played it a couple of times. Shame, I'd like to try it again and see if it's easy now.

(Also, first post, hurrah! No more skulking in the background!)

I remember playing a DOS game which was this really old baloon shooter. You'd see your crosshair and would shoot arrows at colourfull ballons that kept floating upward. Different colours gave different points. It was pretty addicting, had puke ugly 90's graphics and a green background if I remember correctly.

Anyways, I remember playing this old, old JRPG/RPG where you ran round a city and into forests etc. The colours were seriously bright, like grass was acid green. Near the start, you'd pop out to the forest and fight worms mostly for the start of it. Seriously can't remember the name of it, any help would be appreciated on what game this is :)
Sorry, but that described about 90% of all JRPGs ever made.

A PS1 game called something life, I can't remember it's name. It was a side scrolling adventure game where you used a gravity beam thing to smash enemies on the surfaces of the level and kill them. It involved a lot of puzzles and tricky movements, plus it was tough. But it was really fun!
This it?

If you own an Xbox 360, you might be interested in knowing they made this into an XBLA title;

Let's see...

The VERY first game I ever played didn't really have graphics, just letters and symbols, kinda like primitive ASCII art. You controlled a dropping symbol and had to avoid obstacles. It was roughly 20 years ago.

Then there was this first person fantasy adventure game on the NES. I never made much progress in it since it was in German (not a language I speak), though you would be suprised how far you can get with a little trial and error...

Ach, there was a game from oh so long ago where you were a kid in a horror setting and you had to go rescue someone, I think... all I really remember is that you collected bubbles for pretty much meaningless points and the monsters scared the crap out of me when I was a kid.

It was on PC, sometime in the early 1990s.

Oh, and until recently when I found out the name of it, Commander Keen :D

I remember this game on PS1 where it was like 5 guys inside of a cube with time bombs strapped to them and the cube would flip if you hit switches. You had to run around and get checkpoints to add time to your bomb and you could beat the fuck out of the other players in order to beat them to the checkpoint. I can't remember the name but it was fun as hell.

I vaguely remember a game about some kind of magical space circus on the N64, where you went though all these weird worlds, like a sci-fi B movie one, and one on a giant cube that rotated.

Also some game where you where a robot who shot paint also on the N64.

Can't remember there names now though :(.
My cousin had that game of the robot that shot paint I know Ubisoft published it and that it had Rocket somewhere on the title but I'm not completely sure what it was called as for the other game it doesn't ring any bells.

[EDIT] Hey Man I think I just found it here is the link to the wikipedia page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocket:_Robot_on_Wheels hope it helps

Oh yeah I forgot to add that you don't always have the thing to paint it is a vehicle that you can only get in the second level I believe but am not quite sure hope it was the game you were looking for.

I remember playing a game on the SNES.
You were controlling a caveman who could upgrade your clothing to purple. you were also fighting a dinosaur, and when you defeated him, you could go inside it where there was another boss. after defeating that boss, you got a stage selection were you could choose between 4 stages. That's about all I remember. Iv'e been looking for it in many years.

It was on the PS1, I think you just sort of looked like the generic paladin kind of thing. Armour, cape, that old chesnut. I know it was kind of like a top view but not...if that makes sense. I also distinctly remember someone having pink hair in it.

Douk said:
As for me, it was a Spiderman game I think. For a very old console, and I distinctly remember the first bosses being 3 cheerleaders with hair they whip around and a larger (not giant, but absurdley tall) cheerleader after that who also uses her hair.

I swear I'm not making this up.
I'm not 100% but is it on the Dreamcast, or any other Sega console?
Search for "Threads of Fate" and see if that's the game.

And yes it was probably a sega or dreamcast, probably sega since the game was 2D.

There was an old pc game I played once where you were a raptor with a jetpack and the meteor was about to crash into Earth, so you had to fly around and collect eggs. Man, that game was awesome.

(and if they existed, we'd all be fucked.)

Ooh, boy has this been bugging me for years now.

Years ago, my brother had gotten a PC game (Windows 98 or 95), the title for which I've been trying to remember for years.

It was a sort of open-ended Western RPG/point-and-click adventure where you were greeted by a white-bearded wizard in his magic lair and whisked away to a fantasy world where you could manufacture your own pizza out of various ingredients, get loaded at a local tavern, and visit an inn where the stocky, perhaps elvish female innkeeper would say such corny lines as "Well, aren't you a sight for shore eyes?"

I remember that this game was fucking cool, which makes it all the sadder that I can't friggin remember it.

EDIT: Holy fuck, I found it. It's Quest for Glory V: Dragon Fire.

YES.
