This isn't another one of those overdone "Most Overrated Franchise?" threads, but rather just a place to share games or gaming series that you admit are perfectly well-made, but just don't appeal to you. A good example is Yahtzee's dislike of Starcraft II- he doesn't badmouth the game, but rather states that he just can't get into it. So, fellow Escapists, what games get you surprised looks and cries of blasphemy when you tell your friends you don't like them?

I'll start with one- Mortal Kombat. Sure, the fighting mechanics are solid, but it just doesn't seem like anything special to me. I just don't like the gore, and the fatalities often come across to me as silly more than anything else. I know that other people like it, and that's great, as I'm sure it's good to them, but I'd prefer Super Smash Bros. any day.

Half Life 2. It may just be because I have The Orange Box on the PS3, but I just didn't find it very fun.

Final Fantasey 13, and more recently Mirrors Edge, what a weird brite white game that was. Guitar Hero and Rock Band Games, DJ Hero, especially DJ Hero, because DJ's are further from being a hero than a guitar player.

The original Starcraft. Baldur's Gate on the PC. Fallout 1 & 2, Jagged Alliance 2 and other games in this style.

Starcraft because I always liked Command & Conquer and preferred it, and then I discovered games such as Sins of a Solar Empire and Company of Heroes. Baldur's Gate made me want to hang myself, and games in the style of Fallout and Jagged Alliance bore me to death when I attempt to play them. I can watch other people play all the above games, but I can't play them myself without getting the urge to hurt something.

Super Mario Galaxy.... I don't know... I just can't get it... it was never fun for me...

WoW, I totally understand its appeal and people really enjoy and love it, is a social game that brings people and friends together, the artistic design is very well made and unique, but, I just don't see the appeal of grinding ad nauseaum...

any 2d fighter since street fighter back in the days of the SNES, barring super smash bros for some reason.

Probably the original Starcraft. I had a little bit of fun with it, but ultimately RTSs aren't really a favored genre of mine, and I typically prefer the slower-paced ones like Age of Empires 2/3 or Dune 2000 (or even Blood & Magic), besides.

Another would be Final Fantasy Tactics. The story was interesting, and I love the system concept (especially the Jobs); I don't usually seek out SRPGs, but I rather like the Fire Emblem series, and I'm having a kick playing Disgaea. FF Tactics just felt too...limiting, I guess, compared to those. Only being able to take along five characters, and never knowing whether to swap out one of mine for a named character, got a little too frustrating and boring.

Zelda. I never got into it. The 3D ones looked okay from an outsiders view but I've never owned or played a Zelda game. Probably due to the fact my Sister (who bought the video games in my family when I was a kid) didn't like Zelda and the fact I never had a N64. So I missed out on the Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.

I didn't like the looks of Windwaker. Too much sailing, too cute for my taste. Twilight Princess was the latest game I would have considered but I never got it either.

I missed the entire Zelda series. Don't hurt me.
